Shirley Jackson purists may not enjoy this as it lacks some of the ambiguity of its predecessor but as someone in the camp of Hill House being haunted, I loved this book. I want a movie with Patty Lupone as Amanda Greer.

I liked the idea behind this book but the writing is just so dry and wordy. Oof.

Beautifully written and haunting. I loved this book so much that I’m definitely going to be reading more of Jackson’s work.
