I originally got this book as an Advanced Reader Edition but I didn't happen to read it before it actually came out. This book is a historical fiction about the real life of designer Ann Lowe. This book was written really simply for the content that was included in the book. Overall, it was really interesting to read.

Fi has saved Briar from his curse but things didn't go as planned. Now Briar, Fi, Shane, and the Paper Witch are struggling to find a way to defeat the Spindle Witch.
I liked this book okay. I thought that the history of the world was really interesting. The world-building in this series is really amazing and I'm glad that I got more of it. What I didn't like was Briar's character. There's an attempt at characterization but it just falls flat. I also thought that parts of the book dragged on longer than needed and some went by quicker than they should have.
Overall, I think that this book was okay but I liked the first book better.

This book follows a young woman as she works to save the people that she loves in a world that is different than anything that she ever believed.
I thought that this book was pretty good. The world-building was amazing and the magic system was interesting. I would have liked a greater description of how people got their magic but that's okay. The main thing that I didn't like was that the main character was hypocritical because she believes that gods of other religions can exist just not the gods of the Woodsman. It just doesn't make a lot of sense.
Overall, I thought that this book was well written and I'm excited to read more by this author.

I thought that the characterization of Jane throughout the book was super well done and incredibly interesting to read. The magic system was also incredibly thought out and really unique. It does get a little gory but I'd give it a read.
