Fuimos canciones (Canciones y recuerdos #1) by Elísabet Benavent

A ver este libro me tenía en un tira y afloja entre momentos que lo disfrutaba y otros que me tenían muy frutada con los personajes, pero comenzaré con que lo que más disfrute de esta historia, que fue en definitiva las interacciones y la relación entre las amigas que en verdad fueron fenomenales acompañada de un diálogo con un tono muy gracioso y bastante entretenido.
Todo bien hasta ahí, donde comienza complicarse para mí esta historia es primero, si vais a entrar a este libro pensando que tendrás un final feliz, te adelanto que no realmente; yo incluso no consideraría esta historia para la sección de romántica sino más bien en la de contemporánea con aspectos románticos incluidos.
El libro podría haberse recortado unas cuantas páginas; pasamos mucho tiempo dando vueltas a la misma idea (cuanto Maca odia a Leo, cuanto Leo odia a Maca y el ciclo se repite), yo habría preferido que se hubiese concretado más en la historia de ellos dos y dejar migajas para haber hecho dos historias adicionales sobre las dos amigas de Maca y no incluirlas dentro de esta misma, porque al final terminas el libro sintiendo que no hemos avanzado en nada, sobre todo en lo que respecta a la historia de Maca.
Leo es un personaje que en verdad no soporte pero para nada, y eso ya es problemático en especial cuando a primeras parece que es el protagonista para la historia de Maca; al cual no lograba ni entender sus acciones y en verdad que además de ser muy sexy y un dios en la cama (esto la autora hace mucho hincapié que lo sepamos, no lo vayamos a olvidar) no entendía la locura por este hombre.
La relación tan profunda e inolvidable que la autora intenta vender entre Leo y Maca fue mucho, decir no mostrar, donde los pocos flashbacks o recuerdos que tienen los personajes son ¿adivinan de qué ?... Pues si de lo magníficos que eran en la cama, que a ver me parece genial no obstante no hay nada más ??; más importaba la historia de las amigas que la de Maca.
¿Continuaré con el siguiente? Pues claro que si lo haré, primero porque estoy muy interesada en la historia de Jimena y Adri, y segundo porque la relación entre Leo y Maca es como un choque de trenes al que no puedes evitar mirar.

You know that feeling when in class a professor was explaining something, and you really wanted to understand, but you just felt they were speaking a different language? That was my reading experience with this book.
In a world where magic exists we have a secret society in a dark academia setting where we get six individuals with outstanding abilities that are chosen to form part of this organization, and after a year one would have to be eliminated and the other five may continue to get access to great knowledge and prestige.
My main problem was the lack of a feeling of solidity with the world and magic system with this I don't mean that you have to explain everything from the start, but you got to give a bare minimum for me to get some footing on the world a thing that I didn't feel at all throughout this book.
What I did enjoy are the unlikable characters that we are presented with, which are all backstabbing and playing dirty to get into the final five; add on that some of them have some juicy secrets and ulterior motives and you get something to keep me reading to the end.
Did I think the end was worth pushing through ? ehh ...not much
Will I continue with the series? I don't think so.
Maybe if you are looking more into getting just the vibes of a dark academic setting in a forgotten library with people that got magic abilities, this book will work for you if you don't mind the cons I mentioned before.

This novella was just what I needed to get me into the Christmas vibes, so sweet and funny, set in a bookstore between two coworkers that are rivals, one loves the holidays the other doesn't, add chemistry that you can feel miles away and you get this great banter and delightful romance staples of Chloe Liese writing, with diversity and swoony characters that just robe your heart!
Definitely an author that has become my go to for contemporary romance recommendations.
