Free Fall by Kathryn Nolan

the start of this book really draws you in and keeps you wanting to find out what is going on with this family. but the romance just didn’t hit the way they usually do for me. this was my first bodyguard romance and I did have high hopes. but they just weren’t met. I was more intrigued by the family drama/suspense, and that’s really what kept me reading. but this entire book just wasn’t it for me unfortunately. there were some good parts though!

my heart shattered and came back together so many times reading this one. a literal rollercoaster of emotions and understanding the deeper meaning to love someone. so glad I finally got to this book! it’s been sitting on my tbr for too long, but it was definitely worth the wait

Everything you need in a spicy sports rom-com! The banter was hilarious! Ollie’s character was so young, fun and spunky! And coupled with Silas and that strong, sexy edgy athlete - you have a match made in heaven!

finished the agitators series and this has to be my favorite book hands down! I loved being able to tap into halsey’s character finally and learn so much more about the broody, quiet, introverted character from the other books. seeing him go through so much pain, grief and loss, but finally being able to find true, heart wrenching love was so amazing! and their romance - let’s just say halsey has the most intense erotic side to him that was not expected but completely appreciated!
halsey is probably the broodiest character on the agitators team, but when his eyes land on blakley, the fun outgoing brunette, he feels love sparks. now he’s on a mission of stepping out of his comfort zone to show her he wants her in every way imaginable. what starts as roommates, quickly turns into lovers. and a spicy romance they truly have! blakely didn’t realize she needed a man like halsey in her life until he opened her eyes to what love means. but what she didn’t realize is how much he needed her. and she swoops in because that what love is. being there for your person no matter how low they feel.

The Girl in the Basement by Eoin Dempsey, Eoin Dempsey

haven’t read a thriller in awhile, so jumping into this one was so great! a shorter read - less than 300 pages. it was definitely an attention grabber and a page turner that I finished in one day!
told from the past and present, ellie fell for the new kid at school who was suspected his ex-girlfriend’s death. getting to know him meant getting to know his family too. and ellie definitely had some weird feelings about his parents. after being abducted and locked in a basement, all the clues point to her boyfriend’s father. but fast forward a few years and ellie has a daughter. and at just about the age that ellie was, her daughter was also abducted. but who did it? it couldn’t be her teenage boyfriend’s father - he’s been locked up in prison for years.
a story of history repeating itself, buried family secrets, and teenage love.

frieda books will always bring me out of a slump! recently I started two books, one that I dnf-ed because I just couldn’t get into it, and the other that I did finish but it wasn’t great. so I picked up a frieda mcfadden and it was everything I needed.
what looks like a perfect family is anything but as you dive into the characters. erika, the suburban mom. hannah the semi-combative daughter. jason the happy goofy dad. and then there’s liam, the teenage son who has a dark childhood and everyone believes may be a killer in the making. but when his crush goes missing, the real questions come up of did liam do it?

Lottie and Huxley are seriously a match made in heaven. What starts off as a business deal between the two quickly blossoms into a real relationship. And as with any relationship comes the bumps. But their journey to love and sealing the deal was so exciting, spicy, entertaining and everything you need in a romance book!

this was my second time reading this book and it left me sobbing like a baby. the first time I read it was months ago, and for some reason I just couldn’t get past the first few chapters. It ended up being a dnf because I really felt the writing style was too ya for my liking. but something recently told me to give it another try. and I’m so glad that I did, because wow.
the first half of the book is a bit slower, you’re just chasing the friendship/relationship between rune and poppy. but the plot twist happens once rune and his family relocated back to georgia and there’s just a whirlwind of information and emotions being through the way.
without giving away too much, this book was much heavier than I had expected so check the tw before starting.
witnessing a young love, loss and death, attachment and detachment. there’s so much more depth in these pages than I saw coming. the last few chapters I could not stop the tears, and in my books, that means this was a really good read.
