Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

This was my first Abby Jimenez book and it was also my first ARC! I completely see the hype with her books! I would definitely give this book a 4.5 out of 5. The representation of being raised by a single parent, being in foster care, mental health and the reality of how it affects your day to day life and relationships, and the ability to work through it all was SO relatable. But not just relatable, it was realistic! This book touches you in a way that’s more than just a romance read. I absolutely loved the characters of Emma, Justin and Maddy. I would advise to double check the TW before reading because there are some pretty deep moments throughout the story that can hit home.

I had such high expectations for this book and it did not disappoint!! just reading the tropes had me super excited and when I tell you this was a page turner, it truly was. there’s just something about secret forbidden romances that are so steamy.

tropes - best friend’s daughter, age gap, secret forbidden romance, slow burn, spicy

if I had to choose two words for this it would be saints + sinners
starting this one, I wasn’t too sure what I was getting into. reading through the description and tropes, I knew it was a book type that I haven’t read before. and it was every bit spicy, raw, explicit. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did, but I surely did

gabriel and grace - the pining, lust and love was so good! following their romance and watching it evolve was so amazing. there was a little bit of everything you need in a romance book in this one, (humor, spicy steamy content, family drama) which I honestly think made it that much more enjoyable of a read. this workplace romance was just

another meghan quinn book done! I was super excited when I saw the arc notification in my email for this one. because helloooo, it’s meghan quinn! her books always get me - they’re so entertaining, spicy, quick reads, funny. I can go on and on. and this one was just as good. definitely found myself laughing out loud numerous times. and while it wasn’t as spicy as her others, there definitely was some heat more towards the ending of the book

another goode brother book done and i have to to say, this family’s trauma and journey is so full of ups and downs! the heartbreaker focused on lucas and the gradual relationship that forms with sadie, his student and also sister in laws friend. adding in a pregnancy trope to a spicy romance was genius! and definitely something new for me to read. the heavy topics of their family dynamics, the sex club and the aftermath of the father’s crimes was so intriguing. obv check the tropes/triggers as this series def has some things that aren’t meant for all reader’s preferences. out of the three books I’ve read so far in the series, this has to be to the slower one. still so full of a great storyline, but a much slower pace.

tropes / triggers: student-professor romance, surprise pregnancy, not his baby, grumpy x sunshine, dom/brat dynamics, roommates to lovers, love of punishment

just when you think the book is coming to an end, in the last 100 pages you’re thrown a curve ball of a plot twist!

max monroe has such an amazing way of telling a story. from beginning to end, learning curve just touches you in the most emotional ways. the relatability of the character’s lives, the humor, the real life circumstances we’re faced with. absolutely LOVED this one!

a shorter read but packed full of plot twists! there’s never been a frieda book I didn’t enjoy. while this wasn’t as dark and twisty and others, I really enjoyed the suspense of the friend group being lost in the forest and wondering what is really going to happen. honestly, I didn’t see this ending coming. but that’s part of the charm! the whole done it is never who you thought it really was.
