This was so amazing to me. I mean this shit is dark and disturbing but so well done. I don't know what took me so long. Oh I know, I don't usually read young adult books. I do now! My son read it last year because kids at his school hyped it up and I gave his away when he was done. I think now the adult community got their hands on it and now started hyping it up last few months so I had to repurchase it for myself. Not disappointed at all! My only problem was that I hated the ending. Though I know there is a sequel, the ending didn't necessarily read like there would be another one though it also left it in a lackluster way. I almost feel as if a discovery of a particular character should have been discovered at the end. Just my opinion. Once you read it you will know what I mean. Highly recommend. I will read sequel soon

*3.75 stars. I like the premise and it was executed well, I am just trying to figure out if it was interesting enough to continue. My favorite was the artwork. Flawless. I did get a kick out of a mention of a city that I live in. Pretty cool lol I will give next volume a chance to see

4.8 stars. Being my first introduction to graphic novels, I loved it! The action from page to page. The suspense! Some parts were too raunchy and unnecessary in my opinion and that's really the only thing that makes this for 18+ in my opinion. Other than that I laugh and cuss at the characters often. Can't wait to move on to book two

5 Flippin stars! This book was everything to me! I didn't go in with very high hopes but thought with an intersectional character that it would be interesting enough. This book from first to last page had me in all kinds of emotion. Alllll kinds okay? This was the cutest but not overdone love story that, honestly I want to read it again, like now. I just *sigh* it was everything. I was so surprised that this book took place in my place of residence. I need to go find that Korean BBQ place on University (if she didn't make it up lol). So happy I own my own copy of this. I am never letting it go

3.5 stars. I understand it's a true story and maybe I should make it 5 stars but I didn't really get pulled in like so many others. I was not very much moved. I have tons of questions and slight anger at what I see as privelege but portrayed as just naughty, and explained as okay because of the environment. Yes I should be more empathetic and I understand he was a product of circumstance and it was a traumatic era. I expected more due to the rave reviews but I feel like there were many things left out and it felt sort of rushed. Why did we not get the story how he came into comedy and success? I think that would be great to know simply because childhood was pretty rough. Whatever, it's late and maybe I'm just insensitive.
