Vampire Academy 10th Anniversary Edition by Richelle Mead

A new and different take on vampires. I really enjoyed the story. It has a particular myth to it that I learned one group of people actually believed. Rose is a strong and independent female fighter. She is the toughest of the tough and right up there on the list of feminine icons. Her sassy attitude and fierceness made me really like her character. One of the reasons why I started to read the other books in the series. Its got a lot if romance and the characters whom I thought were going to be those stereotypical kind of characters turned out not to be who I thought. It made for a much more interesting plot. Plus overall a better couple with their significant other.

Star wars was not always such a big thing for me. But after i saw the new sequels and got over the initial hatred all fans had about a new star wars, I was in love. For a number of reasons. I am so thrilled to be able to be in the middle of all the excitement instead of going up to people and saying ‘look what i found. This amazing new series’ and then them saying ‘yes, very nice Kylie. That has been out for five years and everyone already knows about it’. It was always so depressing. But here I am loving the sequels and OMG. This book. There are so many things i want to say. Most of them would be spoilers however. And other things i would rather not mention in case of what happens in rise of Skywalker. I might come back and change this later. I just love the new star wars so unexpectedly.

Another book for school I wonder why they have us read. It easily could have been shorted 300 pages. We all still would have gotten the same information and message the author tried to give us. It was just a bust. Most of the time it was boring and I didn’t rally care about what he was trying to explain. I hate to compare, but it was almost as worse as boys life. But i doubt anything can top that book in being a pointless page counter. Yet, it came close. Thankfully I was not counting pages. And I would totally write a long essay style review but my hands are tired for typing and I don’t feel like getting into it. Also, why does my keyboard not capitalize my I’s. Now i have to go back and make sure all of them are capitalized. Anyway I would just warn you not to read the book is all.
The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates by Wes Moore

It was not engaging at all. A lot of times I skimmed the pages because it could not hold my attention span that long. I had to read it for school and would never have chosen to read this outside of school. A lot of times the author would go on about things that didn't even matter that much to the main story. And then after I finished reading a whole page and a half on whatever it would be totally unclear to me why I read that. I feel like when writing a novel, everything the reader reads needs to have a purpose. The book doesn't have to be too heavy on symbolism. But if you have your characters saying "Oh I like your shirt" "thanks" there needs to be a reason or else it is totally pointless to write and read. This book had way too much of that. Also it needs to be clearer which chapter is which Wes because with both of them in the same book it takes my mind a bit to figure out which wes the chapter is about. Overall just not that well written.
You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero

It changes your frame of mind in the best way. Each step seems so simple and sure to follow. Eventually it will change your life. Everything in this book is great advice and are now things I always try to follow. This is the first self-help book I have read, but it has made such a positive impression. A great first, or if something has disappointed you in the past, a great place to pick up again. Her book does not only apply to one specific person, it is everyone.

Wow, throughout that book there were so many twists and turns. One minute you think it would go one way, but the next it turns in a completely different direction. You’re left sitting there like well I guess that is where were going now and I don’t like it but I love it. Some parts were a little cliche of this type of book. However, in this series that is a minor rarity. Otherwise these books are really good.

Her series just keeps going on and on. And somehow I keep following. And liking all the books. This somewhat perplexes me, but at the same time I know myself. Each book is relatively similar to the ones before it, but the plot twists, Oh MY GOSh! They just keep coming. Perhaps that is because I am just not perceptive enough to see them coming, but also that they really are just good plot twists. I don’t know what else to say. Each of these books really just keeps the story moving, and thats that.
This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp

Such a sad glorious book. It’s absolutely terrible what happens, yet it raises such awareness about the truth of being in one of these situations. I don’t think a lot of people realize what a serious thing school shooting is. I know I didn’t. All this time I’ve been hearing about them, but I never saw them like this until I read this book. It’s just so terrible and scary. Honestly, if you’re not careful one could get serious nightmares from this book. It was so shocking to see a book this dense and serious. NOT A LIGHT AND FLUFFY READ!

Again and again problems keep coming up. You think we would get a break but then everything spirals downwards again. Its always just downhill. Yet Richelle keeps pulling me in enough to continue to the next book. But only two left, so something has got to get resolved. I don’t even know how I got pulled so far into this series. I just ... I don’t know.
The Gospel of Loki by Joanne M. Harris

This was actually a really good book. It helped me understand norse mythology a bit more. Plus I like Loki soooo... But it was surprisingly good. It may not all be correct as the author most likely took some creative license, as all authors do. Still, I was happy with reading it and found it kinda delightful. Some parts were funny, especially all Loki’s mantras. I mainly picked it up as a fun read to give me something different, so that is what it became for me.
