Despite it's erratic pacing, I really enjoyed most of it (the elderlings lore, the places found in the quest). What I didn't enjoy was the resolution — it felt convoluted and some things that happened seemed particularly conveniet. Otherwise, it would be a 4 star read for me.

"We can't keep... doing this, past this week. We tried it, it was amazing, it's done and over." 🫠

oh no, we absolutely can't keep doing this thing that feels so good and amazing. what, are we healthy adults capable of making mature decisions about our love lives? no, sir. that's not how this trope happens.

I'm so freaking tired.

The characters are one dimensional and the plot is a series of magical happenings to showcase how magical the world is. I was trying to power through it, but it all became quite boring.

I need a little bit more heart in my cozy readings, I guess.

I absolutely love her writing, so this was a joy to read. But at the same time I'm very conflicted about George's character and how everyone is ok with making excuses for his behavior.
