Rule of Wolves. The Endgame of Bardugo’s Grishaverse. It had numerous storylines all going at once, but never once lost my interest. It followed numerous characters, but all of them are interesting. This book is definitely meant to be read last. It is possible to read Six of Crows without having read the not as good Shadow and Bone trilogy as it is more of a spin-off, but the King of Scars is a direct (and far superior) sequel to Shadow and Bone, while also building off of what Six of Crows brought to Bardugo’s world. In this duology, Leigh Bardugo managed to transform the boring characters from Shadow and Bone into magnificent, 3-dimensional characters that most will love. King of Scars was fine, a step down from Six of Crows, but Rule of Wolves is right on par with that duology. There was even some enjoyable fan-service for Crows fans.
