This book was a solid pretty good! I read it fairly quickly and it definitely did a really good job of capturing the nostalgic feel of growing up and finding yourself.
The main thing that bumped this down a star or two for me was the ending (no spoilers here). It didn’t feel like an exciting conclusion to an otherwise pretty solid book. At the end I felt like the emotional payoff was a little lacking. I’m not super invested in the characters so I likely won’t read the proceeding novella but I’ll pick up any further books in the series when I have the time!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 65%.
I don’t want to sound mean of course but this book was honestly just boring. I had to force myself to read as far as a did and eventually just couldn’t anymore. It read very much like a self insert (idk the author so I can’t say for sure). Either way, I think this book will work for some people but it was definitely not for me.

I liked this book! It's definitely going onto my "reread" pile as I could see myself enjoying it it again. I was originally going to give it a solid 4 before I started typing this review... but then I remembered the ending.

Overall, it was a well thought-out plot and the characters were likable and seemed flawed enough to drive the story forward. It's a pretty standard enemies-to-lovers office romance story but that's exactly my cup of time!

However, in the end there didn't seem to be much of a climax.
I was a little surprised at the ending and how quickly it seemed to wrap up. They didn't get to the interview at all and the order in which things were wrapped up seemed backwards.
I will say, I most often read fantasy which generally just has more climactic endings anyways than contemporary romance books. So part of this might be personal preference.

For me, a 3 is a solid will-read-again number. I gave the extra half because I really did enjoy it but the ending left something to be desired. Totally recommend in any case!
