I took this book on vacation with me so it took longer than it normally would have to read, but if I had been home then it would have been read within the same day. Alexandria has a light way of writing and keeping things interesting. This was my first lgbtq rom-com and I really enjoyed it! I can’t wait to find her other books now!

Kimberly McMillan's debut, and what an ABSOLUTE treat this book was to read!

Never Enough Time is a story told from many different perspectives but wrapped together perfectly, with insights into the lives of teenage Marni and those around her during the summer her life changed. Marni grew up in Chicago being raised by a single mother with very little money, believing that her father essentially never existed, until her mother's untimely passing brings forward secrets that changes everything about Marni's future.
Her entire life is uprooted and to her surprise, she's had a father this entire time, and he is ready and eager to be the father she always wanted. Except he lives in a mansion, in southern Texas, with his wife and two other daughters.

I felt so deeply for Marni throughout this story, because being a teenager is hard enough as it is, and she navigated her new life while dealing with trauma better than I could have at that age or many people can at any age. Her maturity and spit fire mouth are the most noteworthy mentions for me, because I love books where you can audibly "cheer" the female main character on for being STRONG! She was sad, lonely, and scared - but she did an amazing job being her own advocate throughout her transition.

Speaking of strong female characters….this book has them ALL!!! From grandma Mercer to Marni, the empowerment these women show through this book is undoubtably my favorite part. Each of them had moments to stand up for themselves, and moments to be opinionated when it mattered most, and moments they weren't afraid to ask the tough questions. It was honestly so refreshing to see the resilient women and their bonds completely dominate this entire story. By the end, I forgot Marni had it rough at all.

Read this if:
-You miss your mom
-You found out about a new parent later in life
-You need to see a healthy blended family transition

Thank you to Netgalley and publisher for the approval on this book!

This book was interesting for me, because I liked a lot of elements-some of the people, the concept of the dating app/pub combo, the setting....but it lacked a lot of sense. It was all over the place with the storyline, switching back and forth within the same page, so it was hard to keep track of what was going on.

I've never read a book by a Romanian author, so there could be just a natural language understanding. Ramona's did do a wonderful job of highlighting the women of this book, which I always love to see! I sometimes even felt like it Tessa/Ruby were dual female main characters with how much we followed Ruby's journey as well.

Overall, the intention behind the book is wonderful and I did complete it so it was not a bad book by any means.

WOW do the twists ever end? The answer is NO, they don’t!

Karen King’s newest book The Family Reunion is an absolute whirlwind told from multiple perspectives. It follows Mary on her newly widowed life and journey to find her long lost daughter. But when being reunited starts turning into disaster after disaster, the family starts to question the newest “daughters” intentions.

This story is absolutely wild. It was a little slow at first, but still keeps you wanting more. You soon realize this family is not as perfect as they make themselves seem, and EVERYONE has a secret. I was genuinely left guessing until the very last pages.

Overall, the story was really engaging and unpredictable, which I love! Thanks to Netgalley, @bookouture, and Karen King for allowing me early access!

Read this if:
-you love family drama!
-you like long lost reconnections of family
-genuinely want to be guessing til the end

Not Your Valentine is a cute, short story about Helen who swore off love. after a viral breakup. But with constant questions from friends and family about her dating life, she devises a plan to parade a fake relationship to the world, except something about this relationship isn't fake.

Overall:
-The characters are introduced with good background information
-Helen and her situation are relatable
-Fake love turned real love was sweet, but the story was shorter than I would have liked

Thank you NetGalley, Jackie Lau, and Kobo Originals for access to read this!
