A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
5.0
I have been meaning to read this for a long while now and I regret not reading it sooner! Although very Beauty and the Beast like, the story has its own captivating twists and characters. I'm in awe of the main character and the journey she embarks on, putting other people's needs before her own. Add to that a fantastically written fantasy world. This book (and the series) easily became one of my favourites.
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
4.0
Didn't enjoy this book as much as I did with the Mortal Instruments, though I think that's just a matter of preference (or I got too attached to the characters from the previous series). However, the story was still as captivating as can be. A true talent of Cassandra's. I was encapsulated and couldn't put the book down until my eyes gave up or someone physically dragged me away. A mystery that needs solving opens many new doors for the characters and they are forced to make not-so-easy decisions that could change their lives completely. A must read for a Cassie Clare lover.
Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
5.0
A fantastic collection of Norse myths and legends! As a huge mythology enthusiast I fell in love with this collection of stories. How did people remember the names of all of those gods?! I had problems reading a few of the names, not to mention pronouncing them! The book is a brilliant insight into the Norse culture and beliefs. I thought it was extremely interesting, especially when reading the stories untold by Marvel in the movies and comics (Loki turning into a horse? Iconic). A great addition to any mythology lover's collection
The Sorcerer's Companion: A Guide to the Magical World of Harry Potter by Allan Zola Kronzek
4.0
My mom bought this for me because she knows how much I love the Harry Potter franchise. The book is a list of mythical creatures that appear in the Harry Potter universe. Accompanied with an image and a description of each. I enjoyed reading this as I was always fascinated by the various creatures and characters that popped up on every step of Harry's journey. A great addition to a Potterhead's personal library.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

This is an absolute classic! I've read the book as a teenager in school and I still love them. Must re-read soon! I love how the books not only have a fabulous plot line and are written extremely well, they also teach you important life lessons. These books are great for people at any age!
Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp

Everything you need to know about Quidditch is in this book! It covers the history of the sport as well as the different types of balls used while the sport was developing. I found it really interesting to read as it gave me an insight into the world famous sport that brings all the witches and wizards together. Fantastic!
Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling, Newt Scamander

I loved this book because, even though it's short and sweet, it covers the different types of creatures found in the Harry Potter universe. The "handwritten" notes, scribbles and doodles that decorate the book add to its charm in a unique, humorous way. It's great to see how little attention Harry, Ron and Hermione were paying to the lesson being given. Cute and informative
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

The booked that made me cry my eyes out and stay in my room for 2 days straight. This is a must read for any teenager/young adult. Though most would say it's a book aimed at young girls, I know boys that have read it and loved every moment of it. It's a moving story that involves modern day problems as well as important life lessons. It taught me that life is never perfect and doesn't always go the way you want it to. A beautiful story nonetheless.
