I’ve read this book a few times. Morana is one of my favorite FMCs of all time. Her brilliance and how logical she is is always so fun for me to read.

I’d give this book a million stars if I could.

This book was incredible. The world building was easily understood and the magic system was new for me. I really enjoyed the connectedness of human and supernatural humanesque beings.

Saeris is a formidable FMC with quick wit and sass. Fisher is a perfect grumpy MMC with a kind heart. Carrion was hilarious and I laughed out loud so much when he was the one speaking. This book, for me, is perfect in the romantasy genre and it had everything I love in this type of story.

I’ve had this on my TBR list for a long time and now I am kicking myself for just now getting around to it. This first book in this series was a quick one sitting read for me and I’m excited to see where the series takes me.

There was a decent amount of world building in this book, but not too overwhelming. J Bree spent a lot of time allowing us to get to know Oli, our main character who is quite sassy which I personally find delicious and gives me some chuckles here and there. We get to see a little of Oli’s bonds and who they are, but not as much as I would’ve liked so I’m itching to get on to book two to see how J Bree continues their character development (this is not a criticism of the author, it is me being impatient and wanting to dive more into this story because J Bree has hooked me).

The story itself was heartwarming and paced well. I enjoyed the development of the little girl and her becoming more at ease with Julia and Ellie.

I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I didn’t listen to the audiobook. I felt the narrator’s voice didn’t fit the story. The narrator herself did an excellent job with the narration, it’s a personal preference that her voice didn’t match the story.

This memoir was incredible and was wonderfully narrated by Viola herself. The strength and perseverance she has showed throughout her life is admirable.

This world is incredibly rich and immersive. The characters have continued strong development and there are hints of even more of that to come in subsequent books.

The found family aspect of this book is my favorite part about this series. The bond the characters form and their deep love and respect for one another is such a joy to read.

This was a very quick read once I got going. I loved the relationship development between Roc and Hook. I laughed quite a bit while reading.
I hope we find out more about Wendy and Asha in the next one!
