Eh it was ok. I felt that the characters were dry and the plot was not super interesting. The writing was occasionally confusing, too

This was entertaining. Not a ton to it, but I did find the characters enjoyable. I wish I could have gotten to know Ian more, or have his confession of love be more dramatic. It was sweet though

I really loved this. Dora and Elias’ relationship was so good. I loved both of them so much. I loved their interactions and I wish there had been more opportunities to interact in different situations. I think I wished the ending was a little different, but I’m not sure how. Maybe it just is that I wish there was more meat to the whole thing. But I also think the ending stayed true to how fairytales often end and I can appreciate that. I also wish we could have gotten more of Albert and the chaperone’s love story

I enjoyed the style of writing, for the most part. It was well constructed, but sometimes it felt overly descriptive of the surroundings when it didn’t make that much of a difference to the plot. My main criticism was the development of the relationship between Asier and Lyra. Lyra was badass, so of course Asier was super into her from the jump. But I didn’t understand why Lyra was into Asier? Like, he didn’t seem interesting or endearing at all to me. And they just let all the other women who were abducted continue to be kidnapped? That was whack. The pacing also felt kind of weird, and I got confused with all the places they were going or other plot points.

I liked the plot of this one more than the first one (I skipped the second because I just couldn’t with the slavery stuff) and I love the lessons trope. But I feel like there were a lot of missed opportunities to show us their relationship developing. All of a sudden we were told “and the past weeks we’ve been hanging out, cooking, watching movies, hooking up” but we didn’t get to see any of it. Lots of telling without the showing. I also wish Adrin had been nerdier. He was nervous and nerdy for like a second and then he’s suddenly this confident athlete? And they kept teasing a lot about his relationship with his parents a lot but that never really was made very clear and it didn’t have any sort of resolution. I also saw the solution to the main problem like 40% into the book.

Smutty, and short. The slavery stuff is problematic especially how her friend treats varac, and made me feel not great. I wish that had been different

Farli and Mardok were really sweet together. I liked their dynamic a lot. I liked that Farli was innocent and ignorant of a lot of things, but she wasn’t infantilized and she had a lot of agency. Going into this, I wasn’t super excited to read this one, but I ended up liking it way more than I thought I would.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 34%.

Just bored by it. Didn’t think the characters were interesting nor did they have chemistry. It felt like a chore to make myself continue reading, and I have to do that enough with everything else in my life. I don’t want my reading to feel like that too.

This was cute. A fun premise of Spock-like aliens coming to earth for scientific research. Kila and Ella were not super remarkable as characters but they had some fun moments
