Cute, short read. I liked how grumpy glabrath was and then how gone he was immediately for her. Predictable, yes. But also enjoyable.

This was overall fine to read. I can’t quite put my finger on what the issues were for me. I think pacing was not great, and it felt like there was more internal monologuing than I like. More telling than showing. The parts where they did have dialogue, it was witty and funny. I think the world Ms Dixon built for this book is really interesting, but I didn’t feel like the main characters interacted very much/ enough to really have feelings for each other. Or at least that wasn’t shown on page. It would say things like “and we stayed up talking all night getting to know each other.” Ok, but show that. And then when they actually have sex when he’s in the rut, it’s weird because the whole book he’s like “I’m going to make it so good for you, just you wait.” And then it’s like in a gross, underground cave where there are killer spiders and he’s not even really conscious of what he’s doing. I didn’t like that she was fine with that out of a sense of obligation.

Ohhh I loved this. Perfect for spooky season. Kind of eerie. Mysterious. Stranger Things vibes. I loved the characters and the plot was so good. I will say if you don’t like metaphors, don’t read this book, because the author went a little overboard with them, imo

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was just what I was craving: well written escapism with low angst. It was a pretty straight forward story with good fem domme spice. The pacing was good. The characters were interesting. What else can I say - I liked it!

I had a hard time with the audiobook’s narration style. I thought the world building wasn’t super interesting nor did I feel like there was going to be any relevance with it later in the story. The D/s stuff wasn’t for me, and even before that became obvious, I was already struggling to get through the book.

Oh my goodness I loved everything about this! How did felicity niven pack so much story and character into less than 180 pages? Wow! I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump and this was exactly what I needed.

Wow. I don’t know what to say about this book other than it is perfect. It is so beautiful and sweet it makes my heart ache.

Wow I did not expect to love this as much as I did. The depth of the characters was so good, and in such a short book! Wow it made my heart ache. It was pretty tame in terms of being an omegaverse. Honestly that barely played any part in it

Not feeling it. The feminization of Liam in their sexual dynamic was not for me. I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters
