tbh. not relatable to me! and that’s where it misses. I can recognize  when a book simply isn't for me and this is one of those instances - which is a shame, because i know many people adored this book and had many a revelation whilst reading it.

didn’t realize this book had a sci-fi element prior to reading - it was flagged to me as literary fiction (so be aware of that when picking it up). I wanted to love this, and am sad that U didn’t. my critiques of it are due to personal taste - obviously the surprise sci-fi, but the writing didn’t appeal to me - I was drawn in by the plot however the writing style was an obstacle to me, i didn’t form connections with any of the characters, and the pacing is strange. it’s a good book? just not for me.
