Overall enjoyed this book and the end of the series. I think some loose ends could have been tied up better and I found some of the TW scenes uncomfortable. Def read the trigger warnings and heed them!

The series does become complicated, essentially trying to tie up nearly two different series and multiple POVs together. St Clair did a great job wrangling all of these together and I would recommend this series to others.

This book is deep and doesn’t spoon-feed you. It has a lot of reflections about making the most of what life deals you and living a fulfilling life.

This was ass. Starting with an impregnated teenager by the English teacher and then they’re talking about how the teacher who just moved to town is flirting with everyone and making up rumors about her. The microaggressions, and other condescending remarks about victims of SA is gross and super triggering. I didn’t think this was witty or even good writing. It just feels like a depressing slice of life in a small town where folks just waste their lives and die.

The book is jarring and not in a good way weird.

I think this is actually the worst book I read in 2025 so far and it’s gonna be tough to beat.

Those with a military interest or those that are in the military are the primary audience for this book. While I am not the intended audience, I still got a lot out of this book because of Adam’s story of immigration, his critique of the US military and what we could be doing better, and how much he cares about the United States and the path that he fought for.

Great memoir about a guy in the most elite US military unit.

This is just very predictable and chill and that’s just not what I want to read right now. Maybe I’ll pick this back up later when I need a palette cleanser.
