This book is not at all what the hype around it has made it out to be, this book is not a romance, theres some romantic subplot but its not romance. Overall though the book was really good and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, i really recommend it if you’re into fantasy royal type stories

i have genuinely never read a book that made me feel so seen, anyone struggling with mental health knows that in media its so badly represented. it’s not something that changed overnight, is a slow downward spiral and a long climb back to normalcy, some days are so much worse than others, and it’s no ones fault and this book treated the topic with the respect and sensitivity it deserves . maybe the best of the series.

i was scared a third volume would begin dragging the story out, but honestly this story felt like a great addition to the series! i really liked it, this volume takes us back to focusing on charlie when nick begins to be worried about his health, and the overarching story about coming out on your own terms is one every lgbt person can relate to, i loved every second of reading this

its not very often that a gay love story where at least one character isnt out is written well. it usually makes it feel like being closeted is some kind of dirty secret, that it’s something you’re doing a disservice to the people who love you by not sharing. like you’re the bad guy for sitting on it. heartstopper is nothing like this.
nicks feelings are real and raw. he’s confused and sure, he’s scared and excited, he is truly a depiction if what its like to be closetted and in love. Alice Oseman truly has a gift.
