I thought the characterization on the back cover - Handmaid's Tale meets Scarlet Letter - was perfect. This was an interesting and enjoyable tale.
I liked the sound of this book, but as a thriller it never quite lived up to it billing. The africa scenes were interesting but a little sleepy.
The premise of this book sounded pretty interesting, but in the end the time travel aspects weren't sufficiently developed for my taste. I did, however, like the idea of the Perfect Society and their perhaps unsuccessful attempts at eradicating any knowledge of the past.
I think it is difficult for an author to keep a reader engaged when there are three (and later four) main characters. It is easy to lose track of the focus, and this book suffers from some of that tendency. The double crossing that is typical for a spy thriller was confusing at times.

This well written but disturbing book felt more like a short story than a novel. It seemed to be all about setting and anecdotes the past, particularly Last Night. I was looking for an actual plot. Certainly not a book to read if you are looking for a happy ending.
This was a fun and uncomplicated book. I was never big on video games but I know a lot about the 80's pop culture. It was a bit sad that the real world so depressing, but obviously that is not the focus of the story.
This is not my typical genre, but with the success of the Stieglitz Larson series, there is more buzz around Scandanavian thrillers. At first I was rather confused by the relationships between the various characters, but in the end the book turned out to be taut and enjoyable thriller.
This was an interesting and powerful set of vignettes about a Puerto Rican American family. I can't really say that I relate to them in any sort of experiential way, but the writing is energetic and meaningful.
I enjoyed the somewhat sleepy pace of the narrative, coupled with the provocative and futuristic subject matter.
This was a fun story in that we are transported to a different world with which I was heretofore unfamiliar. I don't often read books that could be considered love stories, but this book had strong enough characters so that I wasn't bogged down by the love story.
This one was almost a bit too cool to really enjoy alot. The characters were sort of teflon like in that it was hard to get to know them and nothing really stuck in your mind about them.
