In the Kitchen is by far my favourite poem in this collection. The poems all round feel ready to be chewed on, swished around, set aside, nibbled at and savored.

Reading and listening to it afterwards was the perfect choice.

Less relatable to me personally than I expected (it strongly centers male experiences). I enjoyed reading it to get insights into the time it was written. The illustrations are great, somewhat Dalí-esque.

I feel like the title poem (which I knew the author by) has a very different vibe to almost all other poems in this collection (they are all so sad!). I enjoy her rythmn and rhymes, but I guess sometimes reading more from the writer of one of your favourite poems does not go so well 😂 I feel like many of the poems have a very bleak outlook on love and life, which was not what i was looking for.
