Wow. This was solid. I was a little wary at first of how this could go, and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was well executed and that the author did a good job of the alternate reality concept. This was good, and I'm really happy I picked it up. It didn't end the way I thought it would, but that goes to show that the author knows more than me about what was best ;)

This was a fun book! I think the description of Brooklyn 99 meeting The Charm Offensive is a good place to start. The comparison of B99 bring a strong image and I don't think it hit the lofty aspirations I had for it, and that's not to say this book isn't worth a read - it absolutely is.  It might have been better for me to come in with less B99 and The Charm Offensive experience - I hold those two in very high regard. Again - nothing against this book. I did enjoy it  - I think I just set the bar too high. Additionally, I would say it focuses on the mystery more so than the romance, especially for a majority of the book (e.g. it keeps coming back to the mystery/murder), so if that's important, keep that in mind.

Interesting, just not really for me.

Good to hear/read other perspectives - I think the setup and sectioning was good to weave the story together.

I can be a sucker for some YA angst, that's for sure. I enjoyed these two characters!

Solid duology.

lighthearted

This book felt like a warm hug to me - very welcoming and warm fuzzies.

This one time...at dance camp....

Kidding, but only a little! This book has showbiz, queer rep, and apparently when you get a bunch of dancers together for shows for a resort in the Catskills, plenty of drama! I found this book pretty entertaining. It did feel like some of the drama was slightly over-the-top, but having not experienced anything like this, who am I to judge? Overall, pretty fun, and mostly lighthearted. I think this book could get people out of slumps, or a nice reset from other types of books.
