Curvy Girl Summer by Danielle Allen

This book was everything and MOREE! IT SPOKE TO MY SOUL in so many ways and was seriously the first book that has made me felt sooooo seen as a plus sized, black woman in 2024 , I CRIED A LOT (both happy and sad tears)! I just truly cannot put into words how much I liked this book and how this author has a forever fan in me now!! Also because of this book I now have my BOOK BOYFRIEND OF 2024!

The way I screamed when I was approved for this book on NetGalley!!!
I have been such a big fan of @laynefargo since first reading ‘They Never Learn’ a few years ago. Since then I’ve vowed to read any words written by Layne, from now until forever ✨🥹

At first I wasn’t sure if i was going to like a book based on Olympic Ice Dancing, but it being written by one of my favorite authors i should have known that i would be utterly obsessed! In my opinion Layne Fargo can do no wrong. Her writing is phenomenal and draws me in every time, for hours at a time! Also her character development is always PERFECTION! The ability for an author to make a 2D flat charter in a book into a fully fleshed out character in my mind, is simply amazing!
This book truly had everything!! It was salacious, full of drama, full of real deep emotions and sadness. I couldn’t recommend this book more!

The relationships (familial, romantic, and platonic) in this book were one-of-a-kind and felt like a warm hug! Simply put I’m happy that books like this one exist, and that I get opportunity to read them (this one got me feeling extra sappy🥹)

One Last Shot by Betty Cayouette

Upon finishing this book all I have to say is GIVE ME MORE Model and Photographer on location in beautiful costal locations, friends to lovers to strangers reuniting after 10 years, marriage pact, and High School flash back romances!
This was definitely a really fun summer debut and I can’t wait to see what @bettysbooklist does next!!! Also I have to admit that I liked the physical reading of this book but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the audiobook version! Mostly because I found out how to properly pronounce the author’s last name but also because the voice actors were just soooooo good! It’s the kind of book you want to lay out in the sun and listen to!
