Simply put, JUST FOR THE SUMMER IS MY PERFECT ROMANCE💕

Filled with:
✨A Reddit meet-cute
✨Breaking a dating curse quest
✨Family trauma/drama
✨Traveling nurse FMC
✨Small town romance
✨Insta-love/fake dating to a slow-burn something more(?)
✨a billboard😅😂
✨a dog with a human name😍🐶

Equal parts easy breezy and heartbreaking cry your eyes out vibes…this book was fluffy yet real and dealt with real life issues with care! This was my first Abby Jimenez but definitely no where near my last!

This book was such a compulsive read…like I could truly not put this book down!

It truly has everything…
✨a murdered “girl next door” who everyone loved
✨a homicidal day dreaming main character, who is the main suspect in her bffs murder that happened years ago according to the small town of Plumpton, TX
✨a true crime podcast/podcaster who’s here for the truth
✨an eccentric family of the main character, who she thought she escaped when leaving her home town
✨Small town drama
✨Lots of tea being spilled☕️☕️☕️
✨and much much more….

I think the only thing that could make this book better would be listening to it via audio!!! I think that would really bring more life into the writing so I’ll definitely be listening to that on pub day!

This book was impeccable!!! Like ever in my life have i wanted to be a FMC more than I wanted to be Marcela! Loved the plus sized rep and a youth librarian…I AM SCREAMING! I have read this book from front to back twice already and  it is sure to be added to the comfort read list!

Happy Pub Day to @b_schillace and The Framed Women of Ardenmore House ( @netherleigh )!

This was my first foray into this author’s writing and boy was it such a good journey! I loved the mystery, the autistic rep, the haunted house vibes as well as the true characters throughout the book! AND THAT COVER 😍😍😍

I absolutely loved everything about this book! There is just something about Katherine Center’s characters. They are never flat or one dimensional and they are so well rounded. This was a very kicking your feet while smiling and giggling kind of book sure to make a bad day good!

All I have to say about this anthology is…✨BLACK🖤FINAL🖤GIRLS✨

I had a whole host of emotions while reading these short stories, which all culminated to the ultimate emotion of pride! Pride that young black horror girlies can see themselves as main characters, heroes, survivors etc. BECAUSE REPRESENTATION MATTERS🤎🔥👩🏾‍🤝‍👩🏽💪🏾🖤💃🏽

[Some of my personal favorite short stories were Harvesters by: L.L. McKinney, Ghost Light by: Erin E. Adams, and Tmi by: Zakiya Dalila Harris]

This book was super cute and I really did enjoy it, but I think unfortunately it was not the best match for me. As a YA book lover I feel like this one read a few years younger than the main character age was (more like middle school level instead of junior year in high school). The medieval moments and D&D talk were slightly distracting for me and I’m not sure why, also I really wanted more of the record store aspect of the book.

All and all the book definitely sticks very close to the synopsis/book blurb, WHICH IS A HUGE PLUS FOR ME, and the problem was definitely mine and not the books. Also while i read the book via audio and on my kindle I reallllllly loved the audiobook. I was able to listen at it at 2x speed and the narrator was impeccable and really embodied the role of the main character.

Book: 3/5⭐️
Audio: 4/5⭐️

I really really loved the journey that was this book!!! I am usually not a slow-burn lover, and especially not a supernatural/speculative horror/mystery thriller lover because I find that it’s usually done “cheaply” at the end to just “tie up loose ends” but this author really did this book right!!!! Piece by piece was laid out and as the reader we are apple to come to our own conclusion come the end of the book!

Audiobook wise I loved this narrator (Emma Galvin, and I look forward to listening to her in more audiobooks in the future) and was able to listen at 2x speed and even though it was 11 hrs and some change long it FLEW BY!
