♥️What a lovely book. This book is one of my best read this year. It was a delight to read this book. CASEY MCQUISTON IS A SUPERSTAR.

♥️Red, White and Royal Blue is an enemies-to-lovers/forbidden romance book, about Alex, the first son of USA and Henry, the Prince of UK. About how they struggle with all the obstacles they face to live together. Being Prince of UK, it was very difficult for Henry to accept such relation. On the other hand, Alex didn’t cared what others will think about their relationship.

♥️Will their relationship be accepted by the society? Will they be together?
For this you have to read this beautiful book!

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is a book full of emotions and sentiments . The way this book is written is very overwhelming. I guarantee everyone who reads this book would have felt the events that took place in the book.

The book is mainly based on discrimination, violence, sin and redemption, homeland, nationality and family ties.

This book by Hosseini tell us about the story of a young boy named Amir who lived in Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul. He had a best friend cum brother Hassan who is very helpful. The story of the book is fictional, but it is rooted in real political and historical events ranging from the last days of the Afghan monarchy in the 1970s to the post-Taliban near present.

One can tell that the kites play the major role in the book as the title itself suggests so. The main story of the book starts with the kite tournament itself. Amir and Hassan are best friends who grew up together and lived in Kabul. They did almost everything together and one of their favourite hobbies is kite running. One day there is a local kite-fighting tournament Amir is determined to win and with the help of Hassan he is even able to achieve his goal. The victory of the tournament comes with a high price though and in the end their moment of happiness isn’t only short lived but also comes to an abrupt end. What happens after the competition destroys their lifelong friendship and shakes the foundations of their trust, the course of their lives changing as they try to deal with the consequences of a single day. After this incident many events occured and left everyone shattered. Amir and Hassan has to face their own complications and guilt.

This is a really very impressive book on so many levels – the history, location, religion, social culture, character interaction and it’s ultimately dealing with human emotions of friendship and guilt. I would highly recommend reading this book. In fact, it's a must-read!

This is the other book I have read by Khaled Hosseini. Like his last book, The Kite Runner, this too is wonderful. It is full of emotions and is very heartbreaking book.

This book is basically based on hope, importance of sacrifice, importance of family and rights of women.

A Thousand Splendid Suns is a novel discussing about the experiences of two Afghan women. The older, Mariam is born as an illegitimate child in poverty and her younger peer Laila, is born to educated parents in Kabul. Some misfortunes bring the two of them together in an unexpected way. They both have use use their kindness, cleverness and specially their deep friendship to survive.

This book reflects the deep friendship among Mariam and Laila, as Mariam being the most tragic character makes this book stunning; a story of love and strength. She didn't had an easy life, is touched by the love of Laila and her children. In return, she she performs a
supreme act of love and saves her family.

As a woman, I feel blessed to be give several opportunities to live my life on my own according to my wish. I can't even imagine the sufferings of Mariam and Laila. Though they didn't have much support like I have. And still they survived.

This book is a pure love. I can't express myself how overwhelmed I felt reading such book.

Circus Folk & Village Freaks by Aparna Upadhyaya Sanyal

Circus Folks and Village Freaks is something very different. It has 18 folks with different storylines. Every single tale has some lesson in it. The way every single tale is written is so much special and extraordinary. The writing style is too humourous and captivating.

The title of the book is very precise. The title itself tells that the book does has something astonishing related to circus people and some freaks of the village. Basically this book, has several tales depicting people who are not accepted in the society due to their physical abnormalities. They are considered inferior and useless for the society. So many of them decide to join circus due to the cruel actions taken by the village people. By performing at different circus events, they gain respect for themselves and finally enjoy their lives.

Though the book shows such abnormalities in people that they are very strange to happen in reality but still we should not discriminate people. It is not on them that they suffer from such abnormalities. Instead we should uplift them.

It is a sort of book reading which you could never get bored. It is a joyful book. Every character in each poem is very unique. All the stories will lead you to the dark side of our world like caste, racism, class issues, superstitions, lack of feminism, untamed sexual desires.

It is a must read!
The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

The Palace of Illusions, is a retelling of the ancient Hindu epic The Mahabharata. The novel is narrated from the point of view of Panchaali, a princess who is born from fire.

This novel mainly describes about how Panchaali coped with her life, in what ways she overcome her problems. She met a Vyaasa when she was young. He told him that she will marry five husbands and will be a great queen in the future. Also he told that she will be the cause for the sadness and destruction in the kingdom. She never believed in him until his prophecies started to become true. All of the things told by Vyaasa came true. The narrative also provides important insights about her friendship with Krishna and a long lost love that never came to fulfillment. This book also describe about her relationship with the five Pandavas , what sacrifices she had to make to support her husband, what was the cause of the war that was led by her.

This book also clearly define the various roles of men and women in that time. Men were considered warriors as they fought in wars but on the other hand women were considered as domestic property. Women did not gain much respect from men. They were always treated low. They were considered as properties to men and they need to obey them in any matter. As when it was the time for Panchaali to get married, his father arranged a swayamvar for her. Whosoever won the contest that his had arranged for swayamvar would be her husband. She did not get choose for herself.

This book is real love from the point of Panchaali and her struggles.
Reading this book is really very mesmerizing.
