While this book isn't just the Dave Ramsey baby steps regurgitated like most books from the Ramsey company are, it was full of platitudes and emotional stories. I understand that most of the book is about being motivated, but it took so long to get any of the quality advice out. Maybe I feel this way because I am already will acquainted with the Ramsey school of thought, but this book struck me as being low on content.
Overall I enjoyed it and it could be helpful to someone with no clue about retirement, it just wasn't for me.

It was interesting, but just didn't grab me. I've never watched a second of rowing, but the technical aspects of rowing were my favorite

A lot of people have said this is an encouraging book. It was just the opposite to me. It is a deep look at how we are killing the planet and a lot of people don't care. It talks a lot about oil companies, but pretty much every company eventually falling into the trap of easy money vs preserving the earth.
I finished this book feeling angry and hopeless, but there is a lot of good information.

This was really good at the start and the end, but to me the middle dragged on forever. It has a lot of practical suggestions for how we better prepare our kids for real life, but it has so many pages full of things gone awry at a couple universities then painting all universities across the world with that same brush.

I read this simply for a summer reading challenge. It was entertaining, but not enough to hold me and make me want to read the whole series.

I wasn't a big fan of this. First, there is no story, its simply a glossary. I didn't find the "personal stories" in the glossary very interesting. Is there a harry potter role playing game that needs this info or something? It just seemed like a money grab.
This had a lot of interesting information and ideas, but seemed very scattered to me and didn't build a greater narrative in my opinion. It's mostly about demographics and theories beyond why they change
I liked this a lot. It is the most "approachable" investing book I've ever read. I'm excited to start practicing this method with my wife

I really liked this book, and that's saying something for fiction. Since I heard about it on Andrew Yang's podcast, this is nothing like what I was expecting.
At first I was a little worried this was going to be an "art thriller" like Dan Brown writes, but it quickly turned into a very good sci-fi with mystery and intrigue.
I'm very much looking forward to the second book

This is what you would expect from Malcolm Gladwell. It goes into depth in a few situations, then tries to tie them all together.
I didn't think anything was overtly wrong like I have in other books of his. It was interesting, but I was disappointed with the case studies he selected. At one point he criticises the media for "if it bleeds, it leads", but then chose explicit sexual material and alcohol consumption as 2 of the 5 or so case studies.
The book was interesting (I wish he had spent more time on enhanced interrogation), but not without flaws.
