What a depressing book. It's not The Kite Runner, but it was a pretty decent story. I do enjoy his writing style.
This book was disgusting. I ended up skimming the last third just to end the torture. I didn't have a problem with subject matter, and I think by a different author it could have actually been a decent book. Celeste was such a psychopathic disturbing character that I found myself worrying for the author's mental health.
Loved this book and couldn't put it down. Reminded me a lot of Jonathan Tropper's style of writing, which is a good thing. Highly recommend.
I enjoyed this book, but it did drag a bit. It was a sweet story and I liked Harold's character. The ending was a bit of a letdown for me. I wouldn't rave about this book, but I would suggest it. It's worth it.
I liked this book to some degree. It was interesting and held my attention. I didn't agree with a lot of the main character's decisions that she made for her daughter, and I felt the immediate need to discuss this book with someone as soon as I was finished reading it. This would make a great book club selection, simply for the discussion.
