I finally finished reading A Faint Cold Fear, book #3 of Karin Slaughters Grant County Series. I don't know why this took so long to finish. I fell into old habits of not picking a book up for days. That being said I enjoyed the read, however, the chapters were so long!! I prefer a shorter snappier chapter, it helps hold my attention and keeps me reading. Maybe I've kicked the arse out of just reading Karin Slaughter, so I am going to change it up for my next read.

The story follows our established characters from the first 2 books as they are called out to the seemingly straightforward case of a student suicide on campus. However, when an innocent woman is hurt and more bodies are turning up, not everything is as it seems. Did not see the twist on the last page coming! I really enjoy Karins writing style and when reading this series it really plays out like a TV series in my mind. Good strong character development and I am excited to see what happens next, although I'm surprised there is anyone left in Grant County as it is!

The pretence of this story was so intriguing to me. A woman has murdered her husband and hasn't spoken a word for 7 years. I was expecting big things. I had heard lots of brilliant reviews. The story was interesting enough and I found the change in perspectives interesting. The parallels between the therapist and patient kept me reading more.

However, I was able to guess the twist fairly early on which almost ruined the whole read for me.

Wow. What can I say. I couldn't put this book down. I know alot of people say that about alot of books but this.....this was a rollercoaster from start to finish. I was engrossed, stunned, disgusted all at the same time.

This is a great thriller with an added dash of spice for good measure, which I was not expecting but will not complain about. Highly recommend and personally believe it is worth all of the hype it is receiving.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were good and the story keeps you engaged. However I did find the end quite rushed so it was alot of build up to a bit of a lackluster ending.
