A phenomenal story of a teen growing up and not only finding herself and understanding her queerness but coming of age in a world and country that doesn't necessarily want to see her thrive. She experiences heartbreak and hope amidst a politically tumultuous backdrop. I will admit that I did not know much about the Honduran political landscape going into this and to once again be reminded how devastating the US has been in Latin America is something I need everyone to remember and acknowledge. But Libertad was so well fleshed out and such a wonderful snapshot of finding yourself and your community when the world around you feels suffocating. Someone make this required reading. Please!

Thank you Penguin Teen and NetGalley for my advanced copies!

An absolutely stellar series finally. I feel like I was holding my breath the entire time which is my favorite indicator of a great fantasy. And speaking of fantasy, what a breath of fresh air this series was. I haven't been so invested in a story like this one in so log that I forgot the feeling of apprehension you get when waiting for all the shoes to drop.

I cannot write about this book without mentioning the romance, which was a great accompaniment to the fantasy plot. How these two were one of the most frustrating but satisfying couples I've ever encountered. The first two books was such a fun kind of slow burn but Tale of the Heart Queen brought them even closer than I thought possible.

I'm so glad this series exists for people can read diverse and inclusive romantasy where things are not an afterthought. I definitely see myself rereading this series in the future.

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for my advanced copy!

I don't know why I put this book off for so long considering I finished it in two days. This book was absolutely delicious. I will probably reread this as an audiobook at some point as well. I love love loved how they both were vulnerable about very similar things but Julie approached them each very differently. Ngl I was scared another the Kylo aspect of this but aside from his size didn't really see it and having his little cello suites interspersed were the perfect bite sized morsels to make me fall for him. I'm sorry if anyone ever plays me like a cello like that you're going to have to marry me on the spot. I don't make the rules.

Overall an incredibly solid sophomore romance from Julie.

Note: the only reason we knew Mabel was Puerto Rican was her last name and an offhand comment that she was Puerto Rican. Please include us, but give us more descriptors than this *sigh*

Yall this book had my heart racing from start to finish. I would have finished it in a day if I didn't need to sleep but alas. Rabin and Zarya are literally so perfect for each other. Yasen, my sweet baby. I still don't trust Abishek but we'll see. Also I love how the found family expanded in this! I haven't raced through a series like this in so long.

Nisha, may both sides of your pillow always be cold.
