this is one of those series where it just gets better & better each book. i went in completely blind & the plot definitely took a turn & now i’m super invested. i was not expecting anything that happened in battered hearts 😭 also i’ve always thought i dislike love triangles but shae ruby knows how to write one that makes you like it! a part of me hopes that in the end, hals doesn’t have to choose because you can clearly see she loves both. but ms girly sure knows how to piss you off as a character 🤣 running to book #3 now!

a collection of short & spicy love stories, the perfect read for valentines day ✨ i loved how diverse the collection was. it included almost every trope you can think of (mfm, bodyguard, mm mafia, hockey romance, why choose, pnr & the list goes on)! not only was there so many diff tropes, i loved the diversity of characters also included in several stories! i was able to discover a new indie authors as well & can’t wait to read more from them. even though it was 500 pages, the 12 stories were fun & easy to follow along, you wouldnt even realize it was 500 pages.

fell a bit short, sort of wished it was at least 200 pages! like the author gave up on the story, a good one at that. overall, i didnt mind the ending & got at least some type instead of emptiness!

the perfect child was free on audible & decided to give this author a chance. by 20%, i stopped & ran straight to my kindle. while the audible was nice, it was too slow for me & i needed to dive deeper into the story faster. definitely a page turner & i couldnt stop until i finished it. i have to say… the ending was just not it. i love books that don’t always give happy endings but i felt like i didnt get any thing, not even so much of a tiny closure. it felt like the end of a chapter & not a book! but thankfully it has a sequel in which i’ll be reading right away.

after learning about the author’s passing 4 books in, i was quite sad that i didnt find it sooner. it’s been one hell of a ride with all 6 books & learning that carrie ryan is going to continue the series warms my heart. i actually never listened to audible & went for it since book #1 was free on there. it became one of my favorite things to do, listening to this series while doing chores etc. i did find that usually 60% into all the books, i had to stop audible & open it up on kindle to read. to race to find out what happens!! trapper road gave me so much hell of emotions. anxiety. anger. sadness. defeat. while it started off really slow, 70% was when everything starts picking up. carrie ryan did an amazing job, carrying on this series. it's like listening to one of those mystery podcasts, becoming super intrigued & then looking up the entire backstory & digging. i'm addicted.

honestly, s. everest deserves so much more recognition as an indie author. her writing is beautifully descriptive & vividly detailed that it pulls you right into the book along with your emotions. thinkin about it,  i’ve cried to every single book written by this author 😂 one minute, i was crying my eyes out from sadness then the next minute i was crying my eyes out from happiness. “between” is a roller coaster of emotions & even had me sitting & pondering about a lot of things at one point. the author know’s how to write a book, punch you in the face with it & then sooth it out & tell you everything is okay. between is a haunting but beautiful tragedy. not your traditional happily ever after but i wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. the story starts with caius & celeste; weaving it’s way through a mixture of life, death, grief, love & a sprinkle of paranormal ✨ make sure to heed trigger warnings as some subject may be heavier for others. sev has become one of my favorite auto-buy authors but i’m truly honored to have received between as my very first physical arc 🖤 between releases on feb 14 & while it’s a haunting & short read - it’ll leave you emotional & pondering about the between.

i keep saying i’d read the ravenhood series for the first time over & over again if i could but after reading one last rainy day, i don’t know if i can go through dominic’s death that many times tbh. going through it for the second time & in his POV, was earth shattering. it broke me way more than the first time. i’ve never been so deeply & emotionally tied to a character before. although i came to an acceptance of cecilia & tobias after reading “the finish line” but one last rainy day has me questioning if i really accepted it because honestly dom & cecilia should have been endgame. it should have been him with/without sean  😭 anywaaays. top series i’ve ever read. i don’t think anything will place higher then the ravenhood for me.

if i could give the ravenhood trilogy 1000 stars, i would. i f*cken love this series sososo much. while i went through a roller coaster of emotion & i’m probably going to need at least 10 therapy sessions to do damage control, i’d read this trilogy 10’s over for the first time again. Reservation to get my heart torn out, party of one please 🤪

saw this on stuff your kindle for free & i’m currently in my hockey romance era so why not. while it was a short & cute novella (also my first by this author)… i have to say yes it was amusing but it just wasn’t it for me! the spice was just idk LOL. listening to it on audio was quite entertaining but i had to switch over to reading it cause the spice was just 🥴 i’ve heard good things about tessa bailey’s books so i won’t give up just yet. if you like cute, short & cheesy spice - i definitely recommend!
