I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, On a Pale Horse, and was looking forward to reading the rest. While the first couple of chapters grabbed me, once Norton took the job as Chronos the story took a few turns and became choppy. It was as if each chapter was a short story all on its own having little bearing on the story overall. I would have enjoyed this when I was 12, but now at 30, this was entirely meh. So drab that I have no desire to read the other three books in this series.

I am a pretty smart gal, but I cannot tell if this book is meant to be a joke. Joke or not, this book and the people described in it are the reason young girls develop eating disorders and are afraid to show off how smart they are.
