From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata

Because it's not as good as the books I rate 4 🌟, but still better than the 3.5🌟 ratings)
Another one of those Bookstagram reads l. Because this book has been everywhere all over Bookstagram!
An childhood enemies to lovers/ best friend's brother romance set in a sports world
.
The best thing about this book - its theme. The love story revolves around two ice skaters.
The strong aspect of this story was the details on figure skating, practice, competitions and such.
The weak aspect of this story was the love story.
Another plus point goes to this book for it's banter. The hate - the sexual tension between the MCs - that's what made reading this fun.
.
There's two kinds of romance books - one where the MCs get close halfway through the book, but then things come between them, or life happens and it takes the other half of the book to finally get their happily ever after.
The second is where it takes 90% of the book for the MCs to realise and finally admit that they're in love. And the book ends with barely a chapter and a far-into-the-future epilogue
.
The first kind of romance novel is what I crave for.
Unsurprisingly, this was the second kind
And I found the love story portion to be lacking. Loose ends, I expected something else and got something else, not a proper climax of all that build-up - that kind of thing.
.
It's like the first half of the book made me so satisfied reading it, while the latter half left something wanting.
.
But love the ice skating thing. And definitely going to watch so many videos of that!!

I love reading this kind of books. Finishing them feels like finishing not just one but 2 books.
This one book was like reading 2 whole stories. It was the story of 2 women, seperated by approximately a century, connected by a painting. I have read too many war fictions and yet this was a story that covered a totally new perspective. Something about which not many stories are written. It was a war fiction, which did not talk about the war aspect of the time.
I loved reading Sophie's story as much as I loved reading Liv's story. I wanted a good conclusion for both of them. And this book gave me that. There was the legal battle which was especially informative to read. And this issue is something which really makes you think. About the legal versus moral dilemma of the situation. It's the right or wrong versus grey aspect of the situation.
A story that can make you cry, that can make you emotional, that can make you angry and that can also make you feel elated is a story worth singing praises about, and worth recommending everyone to read. Which is what I'll be doing starting today.

I just wanted a good typical cliche repetitive billionaire romance. Instead I got something really good. I got an FMC I really loved. I got scenes I swooned over. I got angst. I got love-hate. I got revenge.
I so bad want Zack's book. Definitely going to continue the series!
