Wytchfae Runes by Flossie Benton Rogers
4.0
Wytchfae Ruins is a great urban fantasy/ dark contemporary romance story. It takes place in different time zones over a thousand years, We start by meeting a viking from ancient Norway named Ingvar Hrothson. He has been cursed by the evil witch Skada to roam the earth as a ghost for the rest of his days. Then we pick up the story by meeting Kelly O'Day, who we find out is a wytchfae(this means that she is a witch/fairy) whose job is to transition lost souls to the other side. During one of her transitions she sees the viking Ingvar and by the time she is done with the transition he is gone. Will she ever see him again? Will she be able to help the cursed viking?
I really enjoyed this book. It had so many twist and turns that it left you guessing and always wanting more. It is also a pretty quick read so you don't have to have a lot of time to enjoy it. I think Rodgers did a great job with this one. I see a sequel in the future here. by Amanda F of www.FaeBooks.co.uk

Deadly Eyes by Mike Meyer
4.0
Deadly Eyes is a thriller/mystery book that takes place in the Caribbean with James Cuffy, the ex professor as the main character. When we first meet him he is relaxing on St Croix having a good time. He is approached by a stranger requesting his protection in exchange for money. Cuff reluctantly agrees knowing that he needs money if he wishes to stay in the Caribbean. It is here were his journey really begins and his world will never be the same.
Normally I like to give more insight into a book I am reviewing but in this case saying anything about it is already to much. This story was well written and kept me guessing until the very end. I never wanted to put it down! With two alternate ending (one much darker than the other) the reader is given a choice in how they want to see it end. I read both, the darker first, and then the lighter one. I must say I enjoyed the darker one more but both are equally satisfying to the reader. This is a must read for anyone into these types of books! I am looking forward to reading more of Mr. Meyer in the future.

Angel of Death by Karen Dales
Angel of Death by Karen Dales is a paranormal romance book. It follows the story of the Angel and Notus, two of the members of the Chosen and their struggles in their centuries of life. We soon find that Notus has been taken and the Angel must do as he is commanded to get him back, even if it means loosing his life. As the Angel is on a search for answers an unexpected love blossoms between him and his housekeeper. He is afraid that others will find out his dark secret and be destroyed. Will their love last? I really enjoyed this book. The author really kept me interested in the plight of the characters the whole time. I felt like I just couldn’t put the book down until it was done. The book had great details and made me feel like I was there experiencing it with them. I would recommend this to anyone who is into historical or paranormal romance. I can’t wait to read on to the next book in the series Shadow of Death!

Stones: Data by Jacob Whaler
5.0
Stones Data by Jacob Whaler is a sci-fi, action, and adventure story all rolled into one. It is a classic good vs. evil story although it isn’t immediately evident. The character development is very well developed and makes you feel for each character and their plight, including the bad ones. We have Matt, a young adult itching to have his freedom from his dad and be on his own, who gets an internship at a school in Japan. We have Jessica his girlfriend, who is in love with him and believes in him no matter what. Kent, Matt’s dad, who is worried for his sons well being as any parent would be, and a host of other characters. Where will Matt’s adventure take him, and what will we find?
I enjoyed this book very much. The book cover is good, although I feel that if the font of the title were smaller you would be able to see and enjoy the cover art more. I didn’t note any real editing or grammatical errors while reading it either. From chapter one to the very last page I found myself absorbed into the story and wanting more. I loved the attention to detail, because it made me feel like I was there. The imagination of Whaler to write this story is great. I would recommend this book to any of my friends who like Sci-fi or adventure stories. I would love to read any future books to this series as well!

Beware the Ills by Patrick W. Marsh
3.0
Beware The Ills by Patrick W. Marsh is listed in the horror genre, however I think it should be listed in the war genre and fantasy genre instead. Although it is not a war between man in the conventional sense, as it has monsters and other beast, it is basically a story of war games of a man who’s name we never learn and his friend Blue. They feel it is their job to protect their land from outlanders and monsters that wander onto the island.
I liked the cover of the book being black and white with the forest seemingly surrounding you. It gives you a sense of mystery. However with the nostalgia that the cover gave me I felt let down by its contents. I found the story very descriptive, which I like in a book, but lacking the thrill of a good horror book. I did note a few grammar errors throughout the book, but they didn’t affect the story itself. I also noticed that some of the things in the story seemed repetitive. I would probably recommend this to someone for a weekend read, as it is short. I would only recommend it to someone who likes war stories as well as fantasy, because I feel like that is what it is better classified under. If you don’t like stories with a ton of battles this is not the book for you.

Hello! A Modern Love Story by E. Journey, E. Journey
3.0
Hello (A Modern Love Story) by EJourney is not your typical romance novel. It is much more modern day just as the cover suggest. It seems much more realistic to me because it is a love story where neither of the characters are perfect. We have, Greg a man who inherited his fathers fortune and company, and Elise a young girl still in college to be a lawyer. They meet by chance and she dislikes him from the start. How can a love blossom out of this?
I enjoyed this story a lot due to its realistic viewpoint. I think the character development was good, but I would have liked a more in depth background of the characters. The book did seem pretty predictable at times. I liked how the cover depicts the vision I have of the two main characters. I didn’t notice any grammar problems while reading it. All in all I think the author did a pretty good job. I would recommend this to many of my friends who like romance novels to read for a weekend, as I found it pretty short.

The One by J.K. Accinni
4.0
The One is the sixth installment to the species intervention series. This book follows the survivors through the many years in the hive and when they finally leave it to see the new world. It isn't my favorite installment of the book as I didn't feel that it had as much emotion or action as some of the others in the series. However I still found it to be a very good read! I like how it tied all the loose ends together, and we FINALLY learn who The One really is! It wasn't as unexpected as I thought it would be either. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and still find myself wishing for just one more book because I felt the ending still left some things to be anwsered, though not many. I must sadly just accept that this is the end for now. I hope Accini thinks about picking it up again in the future or starting another equally amazing series.
Guardians by Anthony Cupitt
3.0
Guardians by Anthony Cupitt is a paranormal action adventure story. It is a classic good vs. evil theme. I really liked how it began in part one but felt that by chapter two it became slow and hard to get through the rest of part one. With that said however, Part two really grabbed and kept my attention throughout it. I really wish that there had been more to the ending. I felt like it was almost a cliff hanger for a second book and if so I would love to read it as well. I did note a few spelling errors here and there but nothing that really took away from the story. I also wish they had done something more with the cover. It isn’t as eye catching with just the shield. I wish they had used something else in the story for it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes this genre. It is a good read.
Floats the Dark Shadow by Yves Fey
4.0
Floats the Dark Shadow by Yves Fey is a very good read. I found it very suspenseful and I loved the mystery element to it! The characters are well developed and I found myself falling in love with their characters even the bad ones. I found no noticeable grammar or spelling errors which to me is a big plus. I absolutely love the book cover as well. It pulled me in by just looking at it. I think this author did a very good job and I would love to read any of her other works. I would recommend this book to any of my friends who liked mystery or thrillers in general.
Hunter by Goran Zidar
3.0
Hunter by Goran Zidar is a paranormal fantasy book. I really enjoyed the cover it goes very well with the book. It had a few spelling but nothing that really detracted from the book. I enjoyed the characters but did not feel that they were developed to the best of their abilities. The story was fast paced and flowed smoothly allowing me to read it in 2 four hour sittings. I feel as though anyone who is into fantasy books would really enjoy this one. I think that this would be a good series book and hope that the author thinks so as well and more will come. I would read them!
