I may be biased because I am publishing this book under my imprint, Boundless Press via Bindery Books but this book was so incredibly stunning that I knew I needed to have other people read it and love it too 💓
Read for:
✨ sibling main characters who are both nothing alike and yet so similar
✨ a beautiful exploration of the complexity of grief
✨ coming-of-age / figuring things out even as an adult
✨ Arab/Egyptian-American rep
✨ political landscape of 2012 Egypt

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
Lovely read for the end of the year and the beginning of a new one :)
The Search, Part 1 by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino, Gene Luen Yang
Really enjoyed the flashbacks telling Ursa's story weaved in between!
The Search, Part 3 by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino, Gene Luen Yang
So many twists in this trilogy! Was not expecting a lot of it but still thought it was great!
The Rift, Part 2 by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino, Gene Luen Yang
Really enjoyed this one! Loved the various storylines developing for each character in the gang and how it all came together at the end of the volume.
Smoke and Shadow, Part 1 by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino, Gene Luen Yang
I had so many derp moments when I got ahead of myself and thought the worst of what was going to happen! Can't wait to read the rest and hopefully see where Zuko/Mai go and what will happen when Azula comes back. This volume definitely felt like the set up to the trilogy so hoping for more "meat" in the next two volumes of Smoke and Shadow!
The Letters of Abelard and Heloise by Pierre Abélard, Héloïse d'Argenteuil
Read this for a Mediaeval history course, and I must say its quite the tragic love story.

I have a thousand other things to read before semester ends. Some parts of this book were mildly good, others were utterly boring. I liked the concept of a forgotten name. Maybe one day I'll go back and finish this....maybe.

Anthony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare

could not deal with all the changes in scene, has to be my least favourite of Shakespeare's plays. Anthony just irks me. Cleopatra was sufficiently melodramatic.

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
Um. I don't know how to rate this book. There were parts I really liked but then there were also parts I really didn't like or didn't care for. I don't know how I feel. Overall, I am very confused, but somehow I want to see this series to the end??
