A story of sisters who think they know each other. It made me sad.

I loved the TV adaptation but the book developed the tuunbaq narrative into something more meaningful and weirder. A historical fiction survival story with Arctic explorers, what could go wrong?

While this novel explores what would happen if the crew of a survivalist reality TV show abandoned the players, the real question is WTF happened to the crew?!? If she would have answered that, I would add a few more stars.

Seems like a more honest approach at a memoir. The wolf remembers things slightly differently than the author. Neither seems like a reliable narrator so it's up to us to navigate.

Grief has a weird way of feeling hierarchical and universal at the same time. Either way, it hurts.

Despite her saying that all characters have their value, she clearly thinks it's horrible being a 2, annoying to deal with a 1, 4s can do no wrong and 3s are the coolest.

This is not scientific. It is a construct that a woman who went through a remarkable experience created to make sense of her new reality. If it helps you, great. It felt shame-y and blame-y to me.
