“happiness isn’t some permanent thing we’re all trying to achieve in life, it’s merely a thing that shows up every now and then, sometimes in tiny doses that are just substantial enough to keep us going”

OKAY, I cried. This is the painful, raw, but also realistic love story I didn’t know I needed in my life. Coho has a way of doing that!

3 stars - I liked it but it was just okay. I’d still recommend to others but it didn’t hit the mark for me.

Opted to get this book in my February BOTM box because bookstagram hyped it up so much, but it fell short for me. I wanted to DNF around 1/3 because it was a lot of inner monologues about a whole lot of nothing.

Everyone fell in love with the quirky, awkward MC maid that I believe probably was written as having an undisclosed disability, but I didn’t. I struggled to read from her point of view, hated her poor decisions, and she made me anxious.

The amount of times the police violated fourth amendment rights in this book was also interesting. But I won’t hold that against it since it’s entertainment value.

The epilogue made me like the book and the MC even less. I would have liked it more if it just ended before that.

And why is “gran” capitalized and then not capitalized so many times throughout the book…. this drove me bonkers.
