i read this in less than 24 hours and loved it!! it was so captivating and utterly impossible to put down! i’m a sucker for deadly games/trials and this book had it along with shocking plot twists that i was living for! i loved how real locklyn was - she was just a girl going through self doubt and real feelings and it was so refreshing. she found her power within herself without needing anything extra and i was living for it. talon?? omg that man. i love him and am so so excited to learn more about him in book 2! not to mention the ending set up perfectly for book 2 and i can’t believe i have to wait for it

This was the first *true* fairytale reimagining i’ve ever read and o. m. g. it was amazing! this spin off of the classic peter pan fairytale has opened my eyes to a whole new sub genre haha. the writing was EXCELLENT with vivid imagery that sucks you in from the moment you pick the book up. the two main characters, Willa and Niko, have to be some of my favorites. I don’t know that i’ve ever fallen so hard for a villain before

I don’t have too much to say about this one. It was entertaining and I enjoyed it,, there were so many red herrings throughout the entire thing that I was 50 pages from the end with like 7 different people it could be and didn’t find out until the end! I kept thinking I knew who it was but then other things would come out of left field haha. I liked how fast paced it was and the short chapters but i did feel like the ending was a little abrupt and maybe rushed? there were some plot holes that bugged me a bit and i feel like the ending didn’t entirely make sense with everything leading up to it. i definitely thought one of the other characters would have made more sense with the ending but hey! who cares! i still enjoyed it and it kept me engaged enough to not put it down!!

this one gripped me IMMEDIATELY. from the first page i was absolutely hooked & finished in less than a day. it ended up going in a completely different direction than i thought it would (i went into it completely blind) but i really really enjoyed this one. Hannah was a strong willed character and I was easily able to put myself in her shoes and had this situation happened to me, i can’t say i would have reacted much differently. her love for owen was apparent and i love that she stayed true to him and his core as a person throughout the novel. the ending was different than i had hoped for it to turn out, but honestly anything else would have been incredibly unrealistic - their happy ending lives on in my head haha.
overall i would recommend this!! especially if you’re a fan of mystery, learning things as the MC does, stepmother/stepdaughter bonds, and also (randomly) if you’re from Austin haha - it was actually super nice to read this and recognize all the street names/ places that were mentioned throughout the book!

Tbh I was a little confused throughout this book, but I also didn't read the series before it so that was probably my fault. It is a spin off but I would think that you should probably read the series before first to have a deeper understanding of the backstory. I had to stop about 2 chapters in and go read the prequel novella (it watches) and that helped a little bit! The pacing of this novel is extremely fast, with little to no fluff throughout the book. This would be perfect if you're in the middle of a slump and need something short and quick with a lot of action to pull yourself out!

i loved this one! it’s a miracle i didn’t cry tbh haha ,, war love stories have to be one of my favorites. That timeline and Noah/ Georgia’s are both equally good and i loved them both in different ways. i was definitely not expecting the plot twist at the end either! overall a really good read and would recommend if you like war stories, banter, slow burn, and dual timelines! i also personally went into this completely blind and i really think that was part of the reason i enjoyed it so much!
A few of my favorite quotes:
“Life is too short to miss the lightning strike and too long to live it alone.”
“Perhaps the kindest thing I could do for the characters would be to leave their stories unfinished. Leave them with their possibilities, their potential, even if they only exist in my own mind.”
“This is not our end. My heart will always remain with you no matter where we are. Time and distance are only inconveniences to a love like ours. Whether it’s days, months, or even years, I will be waiting. WE will be waiting.”
“Our fates are intertwined, for I cannot exist in a world where you do not.”
“I will wait for you every second, every hour, every day for the rest of my life, and if that’s not enough, then eternity, which is exactly how long I’ll love you”
“maybe it’s really the possibilities that are easy to fall in love with. Looking at any situation, any relationship, any story, and having the sublime ability to wonder where it will take us is a bit intoxicating, really.”
