I got this book as a recommendation from my brother, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it surprisingly informative, despite being fictional, and I appreciated the area representation- as someone from Upstate New York, the author got the environment almost completely right.
It was a fun read, perfect for a rainy day or a cup of tea. I'd reccomended it to any adventurer, young amd old alike.

As someone who normally does not enjoy poetry, I really enjoyed this book. The poems are vibrant and fresh, and I really enjoyed this book overall.
My favourite poems were:
My favourite poems were:
- Art Pepper by Edward Hirsch
- Epistrophe by Amiri Baraka
- The Secret Life of Musical Instruments by C. D. Wright
I got less than one chapter into the book. The synopsis facisnated me, but I wasn't able to actually "bond" with the book, so I wasn't able to really get into the book. This is the kind of book where I don't think I'm going to try rereading it.
After having this book for a couple months, I've barely read one chapter. I'm sure it's an interesting book, I just didn't get to reading it. I don't know if I'll pick it up again, but I might try.

I. Love. This. Book.
In my opinion, it checks every box for a good book. Lovable, diverse characters you want to see win? Check. An interesting, plausible conflict? Check. Just plain good writing? Check.
I find it especially poignant in the current pandemic. I feel like this is a realistic commentary on our world and the way it's politics operate. If you look at the small details, the fine print, it seems almost like utopia, but that feeling goes away the second you look at a bigger picture. This is definitely a worthwhile read in the current political and social environment.
I'd reccomend this book to anyone and everyone over to age of about 10, because there is some swearing and graphic imagery.

DID NOT FINISH
I meant to read this book. I really did. But life got in my way, and I never was able to get invested in this book. By the time I needed to return it to my local library, I hadn't even finished the first chapter. Maybe I'll pick it up again someday, but I really don't know.

I read this book for my Freshman English class, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Typically, I find that books you have to read for class or typical 'classics' tend to be annoyingly 'deep' or pretentious, but Of Mice and Men offered me a pleasant range of character development, plot, and themes. I would recommend it, and I think it is definitely a good book.

I enjoyed this book, but I got the feeling that I wasn't the target demographic. while I definitely appreciated the sentiments under the skin, the main plot of the book felt a little fuzzy and hard to follow. I still enjoyed reading it and I would be interested to see where the characters go next.

I really enjoyed this book. As someone who isn't the biggest fan of poetry, I found Xiomara's poetry, witty, sharp, and engaging. I definitely recommend it to anyone who's a fan of YA literature or narrative poetry.
