Y’all I just finished this book in one sitting I loved it so much!

Of note, I don’t know much about the original Jekyll and Hyde and I was still able to fully enjoy this book.

MY DEAR HENRY tells the story of Henry Jekyll and Gabriel Utterson, two teenage students at The London School for Medical Studies. The boys have an instant connection that develops into romance. But the year is 1883 and when their relationship is uncovered by their peers and the school, they’re both expelled. At the same time, Henry’s father, Dr. Jekyll, who is a teacher at the school, is terminated.

Forced from their boarding home and their school, Henry and Gabriel begin a written correspondence over the next year. But Henry’s letters become more despondent until they cease altogether. Meanwhile, Gabriel returns to London to begin a job as a law clerk. He’s stunned to find his Henry looks like a shell of the boy he once knew. Furthermore, Henry now has another man in his life named Hyde who seems to be coming and going from his home whenever he pleases. But Gabriel feels uneasy about Hyde and the overwhelming familiarity he feels when Hyde is around.

This story grabbed me from the first page and never let go. Every plot point captivated me and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I had no idea how this was going to end and was so happy when the author was able to create a HEA for our Henry and Gabriel.

FRIDAY I’M IN LOVE is a young adult book featuring 16-year-old Mahalia. Mahalia wants nothing more than to have a coming-out party (like a sweet sixteen) to celebrate her queerness. She decides to come up with a budget in order to make it happen. But there are a lot of external factors hindering her ability to make the party happen.

This book kinda broke my heart tbh. I felt like the entire weight of the world was on Mahalia’s shoulders. She’s 16 and super parentified, worrying about eviction and paying bills. She has a bestie, Naomi, who I didn’t feel like was a very good friend. And her first queer relationship is shrouded in the fear of being outed by her girlfriend’s asshole of an ex-boyfriend. She also had to deal with a racist teacher, an absent father, her mother’s medical emergency, and worrying about college / SATs.

Mahalia was an amazing MC who deserved the world. She handled all of the obstacles thrown at her better than most adults. She was inspiring and I enjoyed watching her journey unfold. I also really loved the ending of this book 🌈

If I had to outline what I’d like to see in my perfect book, NE’ER DUKE WELL would encompass it all. Low angst, brilliant and brave MCs, hot sex scenes, queer rep, found family, and a cat named Peter.

Ok so we’ve got Peter, the newly inherited Duke of Stanhope, and he’s moved from New Orleans to England. He finds out that he has two half siblings (Lu and Freddie I would die for you both) and he wants guardianship over them. But he’s new to the ton, single, and a staunch abolitionist (YES, KING!), so he’s not an ideal candidate in the eyes of 1815 Parliment. Enter his friend, Selina, who decides helping Peter get engaged will solve his problems. But like… who is she kidding? Peter’s only got eyes for her and as much as she wants to deny it, the feeling is very mutual.

Peter is the epitome of a golden retriever character and loves Selina with every fiber of his being (as he should because she’s amazing). I love when an MC is down so bad for their partner 😍 Peter would throw a lasso around the moon and every single star in the solar system for Selina.

And then we’ve got brilliant, clever, and no nonsense Selina who could absolutely take over the world if she wanted to. The year is 1815 and this badass bitch has not only opened her own library, Belvoir, but has a secret part of the library for the ladies of the ton called Venus. Through Venus, women can learn about their bodies, sex, and all the things the men of this era find unacceptable for them to know.

All of the side characters in this book were so lovable and the found family was perfection. I actually teared up more than once because of how happy the found family made me. I’m also so thankful to the author for including queer love in this histrom with older side characters. That was such a special thing to see, especially in a regency setting.

I can’t wait for the next book! Let my girl Lydia find the love of her life because she deserved the world 🥹

There are so many things Hannah Grace does well in these books, but nothing compares to how well she writes a villain character. I need Will Ellington from this book and Aaron Carlisle from ICEBREAKER to share a jail cell.

I also need Henry to see a psychiatrist because baby boy needs some services in place 🥺 And I really need to give Halle a 45 minute hug 🫂

I found this to be the heaviest book in the series and not my favorite, but I still really enjoyed it. I hope this series continues. I want a JJ book so badly! GIVE ME ALL THE QUEER LOVE

Rory and Russ… I would give each of you a kidney if you needed one. Neither of you have ever done anything wrong in your entire lives. You’re both perfect baby angels who deserve all the books and all the rescue animals.

This was my first Riley Sager book and what a ride! This had so many twists and turns, my head is still spinning. I’m usually pretty good at figuring out mysteries early on, but there was no chance with this one.

This book was the epitome of a page turner for me; I read it in 3 days because I couldn’t put it down. I found this book to be so creepy (in an amazing way) that I genuinely had to put it down and read a fluffy romance before I fell asleep each night lol. My friend and I debated this heavily, but I actually loved the ending. Gave me Primal Fear vibes.

One thing I have to say is I hated the dad subplot. I’ll keep this review spoiler free, but this is how I feel about it: 😒

Would definitely pick up another one of his books!

Ok no. Absolutely not. What the fuck with asshole Aaron? What do you mean this abusive predator gets to just transfer to a new school and never face the consequences of his actions? Absolutely bananas. Dude deserves jail time, not a new campus to prowl with his sociopathic behaviors.

NEVERTHELESS: I did love this book. Watching Stas and Nate’s relationship unfold was so fun. I live for a romance in which the couple has healthy and effective communication and these two were light years ahead of most 21 year olds with their communication skills.

The side characters were amazing; I’m obsessed with Lola and all the hockey boys.

I do think there were a lot of random subplots thrown into the story that served no purpose and should have been axed. And that Aaron should have ended up behind bars or sleeping with the fishes.

Ok this was super cute! A quick read filled with a lot of Jewish culture and tradition, which I loved. The author did a great job utilizing Yiddish while simultaneously explaining the words to readers who might not be familiar.

Hannah and Noah definitely had a grumpy X sunshine dynamic going on and it totally worked for them. I loved their banter. Yes there was an insta-love element to this book, but they’re kids. That’s how it genuinely feels sometimes when you’re 17 lol.

Done and Dusted is a “brother’s best friend” romance featuring cowboys 🤠 so if either of those 2 things pique your interest, keep reading 👀

Emmy Ryder is a famous horse rider on the barrel racing circuit. She’s worked hard at her career and loves what she does. But after a traumatic riding accident, she can’t bring herself to get back on a horse. After a month of isolation, she decides it’s time to move back home to Meadowlark, Wyoming. While her father and older brothers are thrilled to have her home, Emmy doesn’t disclose why she’s home. She feels she can work through the trauma on her own, but instead finds herself becoming more and more isolative. Until her brother’s bestie, Luke Brooks, comes into the picture.

Luke has a reputation for being Meadowlark’s bad boy. He has been a surrogate member of the Ryder family for as long as Emmy can remember. And Luke and Emmy have antagonized one another for the entirety of that time. But when Luke finds Emmy in the midst of a panic attack, all defenses fall and he helps her through it in the most supportive way.

I stayed up until 2am reading this bad boy. It was one of those books that immediately grabbed hold of me. The angst between Emmy and Luke was minimal and there was no third act breakup 🙌🏼. When Brooks was in his soft boy era, I couldn’t get enough of him. He took care of Emmy like she was the most precious thing in the world to him and I was living for it. I loved Emmy’s tenacity in getting herself back on the horse (not a metaphor). I also loved the side characters (Amos Ryder is a babygirl) and I’m dying for Teddy’s book 😍 even if Gus is on my list at the moment 😒.

Picked up book 2 yesterday and can’t wait to dig into Wes’ story!

*This book is superrrr spicy 🥵🌶️🔥

Weston Ryder has never done anything wrong in his entire life and I will die on this hill.

That’s it. Thats the review.

This is book 2 in the Rebel Blue Ranch series by Lyla Sage and what a book 🥹 Wes was one of my favorite characters from book 1, so I was beyond excited to see he had his own story 🤠

Wes is Emmy’s older brother, chronic middle child, and the definition of a golden retriever character. He’s the more reserved Ryder sibling, but he loves hard and would do anything for his people. When he takes on the enormous project of redoing the old family home, affectionally named Baby Blue, Teddy offers him a contact from design school.

Ada comes barreling into Meadowlark on a dream and prayer. She’s running on E, mentally and financially. But she’s determined to start a new life and Baby Blue is her shot. In search of food, Ada winds up at the only open bar in town, The Devil’s Boot. As she sets her work station up for the day to make the final preparations on her upcoming project, she has a dog-fueled encounter with a handsome cowboy.

Ada and the cowboy spend hours making heart eyes at one another, which culminates in an uncharacteristically fun and steamy make-out sesh. But of course Luke Brooks walks in on them before names and numbers can be exchanged, and Ada hightails it out of there. She can’t believe she did that and is so thankful she never has to see the cowboy again.

Until she shows up for her first day on the Baby Blue job.

And the cowboy from the bar is Wes 😈

Absolutely loved this book! Devoured it in one sitting. A few of my favorite things from this story include: how normalized Wes’ MDD was, how the spicy scenes were so full of communication and trust, Ada’s character growth, and the found family 🥹❤️

I cannot wait for book 3!
