While the first one was a little meh but enjoyable, I certainly appreciated the twists and turns it took. Which leads me to this, the sequel…
Now that I KNEW what to look for, some stuff I STILL didn’t see coming. Sarah Morgan is one smart woman, and that’s all I can say without spoilers. The writing style followed the first one, and I already knew to be on my A-game with this chick. There was one scene that I knew wasn’t going to end how it was alluded, but besides some predictable things, I actually really liked this book.
This was bittersweet for me, because I’ve grown to love these characters, and now both duologies are over 😭
Our girl Jasalyn has been THROUGH it. She has come so far from book 1 though, and while it was rough watching her go from depressed to accepting, she came out stronger and better for it.
Felicity also had her own things and insecurities to overcome, and while not as rough, it was still a little hard to get through. Her losses were so sad, but her wins were even better. Now I need another duology for a different Natan or someone else so I can come back to this world😭😭 Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!
I liked this one a little more than the previous one, butttttttttttt that’s probably because it deals with Poseidon, & he’s my favorite god.
I was really rooting for Icarus. He’s written as a selfish self-serving character who only cares for himself (and his sister), but he really has layers, & I enjoyed seeing them peeled back. Seeing Poseidon in a different viewpoint (not super domineering) was also really refreshing.
She also shouted out EPIC the Musical in her acknowledgements so I automatically added a star😂💅🏼
I love both Grimm sisters, but I think I especially love Vivi more. Her beautiful portrayal of digging yourself out of your own head and trusting that you have a heart worth fighting for really resonated with me. To see her accept her self worth and strengths was amazing to read.
I’m a SUCKER for marriage of convenience and this was 😋😋😋 Rowington is a down bad man and I love to see it. Seeing both of them come into their own together was also amazing to see.
HOT DIGGITY DANG MAN!!! Once this got going, it got GOING. It was twisty enough to keep my brain guessing and whirring, and when the major plot points were revealed, they were done extremely well I felt.
Without spoiling too much, rich people with too much money try to get away with murder (or do they?) and other adventures in Capri, Italy 🇮🇹
