Characters felt flat, story was cheap, Arthur didn’t look like Jason momoa so what’s the point 🤧

THIS WAS SO GOOD and I might actually keep up with it :) I have read many boring Archie comics and this was not one of them. the artwork is so modern and everything was real and awesome and I want to know what happens! by the way jughead is emo I knew it

there was actually 200+ pages of nothing happening how is that POSSIBLE LMAO but it got good at the end I guess. I literally like cried cried when [redacted] and [redacted] reunited. I'm seriously underwhelmed by the female relationships in this series, gisa and mare could easily have a better connection. gisa has literally no part in the plot and that's just a straight up waste. I want to give this book 4 stars but it honestly doesn't deserve it! I LOVE when the main ship is away from each other, it's very "new moon", but unfortunately this book did it all wrong :/ if it really had to be 300 pages I at least need some plot layteas!!! Also why the hell is mare described as brown all of a sudden in the third book? There's no way I missed this before. Like she legit just became a brown girl in book three. Like that feels problematic

I really needed this right now because it’s not cliché in terms of YA contemporary. I’m so glad I got to enjoy this story from a lesbian POV it improves EVERYTHING and I was relieved to find out in the acknowledgements the author is gay (phew!). I had my doubts because I’m pretty sure her other books are straight? So I didn’t know what the motive was in this book.

So I’m into film right. But like I’m really anxious and self conscious and inexperienced about it. It was scary at first but then super rewarding to pretend to be Emi who’s eighteen (my age) and an intern in LA. And then she becomes a production designer! GO EMI! There are some poor writing and style choices throughout the book in my opinion, but
1) the throughline was clear (and went with the title yay)
2) great look into a queer love story that wasn’t coming out
3) complex family ties and mystery
4) fame! And movies! And film!
5) intense socioeconomic dynamics including foster care, homeless shelters, etc. AND how that influences friendships/relationships and what privilege looks like and what it means.

This book was really smart and I was so into all the movie stuff. But I didn’t connect to the stuff personally. Like I’m fascinated by LA but it didn’t really do much for me. I love emi and Charlotte and even Toby and Ava and it’s such a smart book. That’s all!

I WAS READING THE EBOOK AND THERE WERE 60+ PAGES LEFT OF BOOK 2 & SIX OF CROWS SAMPLERS AND THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS HIT ME LIKE A JUMP SCARE I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS ALMOST OVER

This had a lot to live up to and it didn’t hit quite right
