easily five-star writing... i really wanted to give the book five stars but i just feel like it's not a "complete" story and i wanted a different ending. excellent book
I read this book for the first time in 2013 and it really stands out from the rest of Cassie Clare's stories. The characters face their fears, approach one another on what's been building up during CoB and CoA... Valentine is honestly the bomb.com in this book, he steals the show and his intentions are super historically-based. I absolutely love Clary Fray and book 3 is truthfully the best because of her bravery and determination for good in such dark times. PS The audiobook lady is pretty bad for 1-3 in my opinion; she reads it like it's fanfic trash instead of as dramatic as I would like.
Poor, unorganized writing and weak, uninvolved story/characters. the male friend is bullied by a guy named Ferris or something who had no background or context. They were gonna talk about Dooley being gay but then he just wasn't? And Dooley tries to have sex with the main character and she screams & kicks but he won't get off her. They end up together in the end. This really disturbs me because a lot of young people have read this. This author doesn't have the voice for a teenage girl; the only thing I liked was the Beatles theme and that's why I picked it up.
