This ranks just below Howling Dark which was my favorite in the series. I love all the lore we got about Ceasar and the previous God King. The ending had my mouth to the floor. I hope we get a Hadrian training arc with the Knights of Jadd in the next book. My only real complaint was how telegraphed Volkas death was. It got to the point where I would have been surprised if she didn't die.
Picked this book up from the library in a blind bag and was pleasantly surprised by it. The artwork was great and the immigrant coming of age story was authentic and heartbreaking. Well still leaving you with hope and faith in humanity.
I got this book from my library in a blind bag. It was labeled Adult Nonfiction which I believe must have been mislabeled. I thought the book was pretty meh, but I also went in expecting a nonfiction story. Not a fictional picture book, so can't really blame the book for that. However, it still was not for me.
