L'histoire raconte l'histoire de Sacha et de sa relation "amicalo-amoureuse" avec Augustin. On voyage à travers ses pensées, des pensées crues, mais qui n'en a pas eu à l'adolescence ? On se cherche, on se teste, puis c'est avec ça qu'on apprend, et qu'on devient l'adulte que l'on est aujourd'hui. On est influencés par ce qu'on appelle des mauvaises fréquentations. On fait l'aveugle, on se prend pour un rebelle parce quand on est jeune on pense que ne rien foutre ou faire le con ça nous donne une bonne image, on est tous passés par là. Mais avec tout ça, on remarque aussi à quel point le personnage manque de confiance en lui et à quel point sa relation avec Augustin fait mal, c'est toxique. Les dernières pages du roman nous laissent sur une fin ouverte qui nous fait réfléchir...
Côté plume, c'est cru, c'est court, et y a quelques maladresses. Les métaphores frappent fort et j'ai adoré ça ! Par contre, y a un côté bobo assez dérangeant, qui rappelle Beigbeder, et qui fait qu'on oublie parfois qu'il s'agit d'un point de vue d'un jeune de 14 ans. C'était le premier roman de l'auteur, donc forcément tout n'est pas bien maîtrisé, mais ça donne tout de même envie d'en découvrir davantage.

Welcome to the 10th Hunger Games ! I'm back with my reviews everytime I read a book, and today it's about the controversial prequel "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" by Suzanne Collins. The story takes place when Coriolanus Snow, known as the evil president of Panem, is a young adult and about to become the mentor of a tribute...
We follow his youth, his issues, his love life, how the games were back then etc etc. New characters are introduced and we learn about a few of them that we knew during the saga. Itself, the book is interesting, intriguing, you just want to see where it goes. However, as a prequel of a saga, it doesn't bring anything and kind of makes no sense. Some evil characters can't have a background story, not everyone can be like Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Plus, the issues I have with Suzanne Collins' writing are the way she rushes her endings, to the point I have to go backwards to see what I have missed. Same thing happened when I read Mockingjay and nothing has changed I guess.
I'm curious to see how the movie is going to look like, though I believe it's unnecessary.
