This is one of those books that makes you feel like you know the characters really well right away. Their southern accents came alive to me and I couldn't put this book down! The writing is excellent and I really felt for the characters and all the struggles they went through. This is a book I will own and read over and over again.

I feel like before I picked up this book I was going through a "bad book" spell. . .no plots or characters were getting my attention. But then I started "The Thirteenth Tale" and was engrossed with the characters and plot from the very beginning. Setterfield really is a master at story telling. This book is a story within a story, and every book lover should read it. There's a lot to think about in this book (at least there was for me) and I had to put it down sometimes just so I could think more about what I just read.
