moving portrayals of countryside life in the late 1880's. I really recommend to anyone looking for a vivid, sensitive read.

I was a little disappointed with the lack of Greek references, writings, academia etc. Before reading it, I got the feeling that it would be deeply inspired by the ancient teachings, however upon reading the book I felt they were mostly basic and underdeveloped.
I still really enjoyed this read, the story is great, just the writing sometimes seems overly dramatic and at times cliché. nonetheless I read it with attention and pleasure in a day :)
