This story is just so interesting and doesn’t get old. Love seeing Light get the death note and learning how to use it. L and Light are both just so smart!!
This section gets so tense as L gets pretty close to suspecting Light of being Kira! Still shook by how genius they both are.
This was a super cute retelling of Cinderella! While the two main characters were not my favourite and it was pretty cheesy, it was a fun escape to an easy, fandom themed read. I also quite liked some of the side characters. But I have to ask, what was the point of the dog?
I really loved this book! Although I do wish there was even more free style rapping, I thought it was a really unique story that tackled some really relevant topics, similar to THUG. The characters were really loveable in this one and I could have kept reading about Bri’s story for even longer.
Not the typical twisty, shocking thriller but more of a moving, emotional story with a bit of a mystery. I really enjoyed the podcast elements and Sadie as a character. I’ll say I was expecting more from it and the ending left me a little unsatisfied but throughout the whole book it kept me really captivated and invested.
Not a new favourite YA mystery/thriller unfortunately. This one was pretty average. There was a lot of focus on Jill’s life and her friends and the secret group they were a part of. I wish there would have been more of a focus on the actual mystery and more suspects/red herrings throughout. My first guess ended up being the killer so...pretty predictable! Still became connected to the characters and relationships because I did tear up at moments near the end.
This book really went places I did not expect. Wow. Could not put it down and I feel...a lot of emotions right now.
2.5. While I found parts of this book shocking, the majority of it was boring and I just wanted to finish it. Being so aware of what the story was from seeing the movies might have been a factor in this. I do think it’s an interesting story but my personal enjoyment level while reading was just on the lower side.
This is only my second graphic novel ever and it was a good one! While at times I got a bit confused, overall I enjoyed the pace and the mystery! I caught on to some twists but was surprised by others.
A great hi-lo book for young, struggling readers! The subject matter was relatable and hard hitting while the language remained simple and the plot fast moving. Would recommend for teens aged 12-15!
