Woah. A lot happened here. I really don’t know what to say. Let me have a moment to collect my thoughts.
WOAH.
I mean, I really don’t know what I expected coming into this but this was definitely not it. It really surprised me. In a very good way, however.
Like, all that rep? Hell yes!!! There was also a point where Claire, the protagonist, started to question herself and I literally had to put the book down because I started crying just thinking about all the times I have gone through that, and how many times I have gone through her situation.
I cannot say much about the plot, I really can’t. I liked it, and as a fanfic writer, I really understand all the struggles the characters go through. But that’s it, I guess.
There are some moments where, for me, the plot felt extremely rushed, especially at the end and at the beginning.
Overall, I really really loved this story and would recommend it to anyone out there. Because, in the end, who doesn’t have a bit of a fangirl inside of them?

FUCK. I am nOt okay. I swear I have not cried over a romance book ever but this one, this one just hurts. And a lot. I cannot stop crying for god’s sake.
My friends warned me when they recommended this to me. But I just ignored their warning because I had never cried with a book before, so why would I with this one? Except well now I am completely destroyed. So yeah. Thanks.

ahhhh... so that was... interesting.
i feel horrible for not liking [b:legendary|36329818|Legendary (Caraval, #2)|Stephanie Garber|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1506803153l/36329818._SY75_.jpg|54501288] as much as the first book in the series. i know i shouldn't feel this way, but i just can't help it.
caraval was action-packed, fast paced and full of unpredictable twists, making it to my all-time favorite books. my feelings were constantly going up and down and i devoured that book. legendary, on the other hand... i really wish i could say the same.
legendary never really picked up, which made it feel SO slow. this isn't exactly a bad thing, but it was definitely a disappointment. it didn't live up to the magic that was caraval. i didn't feel as swept away

"That is what abuse is, knowing you are going to get salt but still hoping for sugar for nineteen years.”
I honestly have no words for this book. I went 99% blind into this book and my only previous correct knowledge about it before getting into was the fact that it was a poetry book and it was short. But that was it. I was hoping for a cute little story about an actual princess and a prince, somehow like a fairytale from another perspective, but that, to my surprise, turned out not to be what this story is about.
This book contains a lot of mature topics, such as abuse from her mother, eating disorder, self-harming and suicide. In my opinion, they could've been handled a lot better, since the story tried to beat around the bush too much for my taste.
However, I feel like the main character actually developed throughout the story and evolved as a person who learns, which is actually what I expected from the very start.
I would have given this book four stars if this "poetry" was actually POETRY. I appreciate the effort, as many said, in hitting enter in a keyboard instead of directly telling the story in lines, which would have been a much convenient way of narrating it. But I get it. Free style poetry is still poetry. It is still accepted and I still have no idea how it is, but you do you. I, myself, think well-written poetry should at least have rhyme and verbal rhythm, but this won't stop me from thinking that a poem is good if it misses ONE of those elements. If it misses both, I won't really take it as poetry, and many people won't either.
Overall, this is a 1.5-star read for me, not good at all for my taste. I would recommend this to people who like this type of poetry and can enjoy it as a story itself and separate those elements.
