I really liked this book. I liked the format and that it wasn't just a bunch of people saying the same things over and over about the shooting. It also wasn't really all about Kirby and what led him to do what he did. It was about the people it affected.
My favourite stories were; Survival Instinct - Tom Leveen [followed Zachary], The Perfect Shot - Shaun David Hutchinson [followed Billie], Presumed Destroyed - Neal and Brendan Shusterman [Followed the gun, this one was really interesting],The Second - Blythe Wolston [followed Reba], Astroturf - E.M. Kokie [followed Ray], Hypothetical Time Travel - Mindi Scott [followed Carah, Kirby's sister], Feet First - Margie Gelbwasser [follows Jenny], Violent Beginnings - Beth Revis [follows Teddy], History Lessons - Courtney Summers [follows Nate]
I will warn you that there are a lot of tough topics in this so beware of that before you pick it up.
I also want to applaud all the authors and Shaun David Hutchinson [editor/author] for piecing this together. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to have 17 different authors work on something like this and have it come out so nicely

Thank you to Netgalley and West 44 Books for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I requested this book because I really enjoy reading books about mental illness and I also like books written in verse. This book, although good, seemed too short. It seemed a little to rushed.
Josh is a teenager who has OCD but don't know it. He moved schools because he was falling behind in his old school. He finally sees a doctor who diagnoses him with OCD. Now that he has a diagnosis he learns how to cope with and overcome his OCD.
Overall, it was an ok book. I wish it had been longer so we could get more into the plot and get to know the characters even more.

There was a part in the beginning where the R word was used and it just didn't sit right with me. Other than that I really enjoyed the book, which isn't that surprising, the more I read Shusterman, the more I love his writing.

First of all, I'd like to thanks NetGalley and the publisher of this book for giving me an eARC of this book to read in exchange for an honest review!
The Echo Room by Parker Peevyhouse came out September 11, 2018.
This is a book about a Boy, Rett, a ward at Walling Home. Walling Home is a boarding house for orphans, most of whom have parent's that have died or are sick with cancer. Rett's Mother is one of those parents, she sent him to Walling Home with promises of coming back to get him as soon as she had enough money to support the both of them. We learn that she is in a workhouse, where inhabitants work in order to get the treatments they need.
Rett wakes up in a strange room, someone else's blood on his white jumpsuit, along with a girl, Bryn. This book follows them as they try to figure out where/why they are there and how to get back home.
***SPOILERS AHEAD!***
When I first started reading this book I was kind of bored. The beginning was pretty slow and not much happened, apart from us finding out that somehowRett and Bryn are repeating the same day . The book did start to pick up after this and was actually turning out to be pretty good. We soon learn that there are big 'bugs' and the house that Rett and Bryn are in are in the middle of some sort of wasteland.
Once they got out of the house and started figuring more out about where they are and why they're there. I do wish that there was more onScatter and what this alloy is that made the device in the wasteland and the mechanisms in the kids' heads. Also the ending was a bit eh, like they got out and away from Scatter, but what now? What is Scatter going to do when they find out that their device is broken and none of the kids can time travel anymore? Maybe there will be a second book where Rett, Bryn and the other Wards, along with some others will attempt to take down Scatter.
Overall it was a pretty good book, but I just wish there was a little more than there actually was. I do recommend it if you like Dystopian Fiction, with a little mystery + time travel.
Thanks again to NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read/review this!
