Before the Batman: An Original Movie Novel by David Lewman

This book does it's job by slightly expanding the universe of The Batman film by being set prior to the events of the movie. I can't recommend to anyone but die hard fans of that movie and even then, just know you are getting a very short narrative written for young adults that currently fits into the movies canon but will be thrown out immediately if need be when a sequel comes.

A dark fantasy with elements of comedy that overall has a lot of heart. It also features a cat, good old Bully Boy! The acknowledgements at the end wrecked me, and it's not even apart of the story itself. I loved this book and am really glad that I randomly came across it. Now I need the sequel please!

Just like the film, I am not smart enough to capture everything this book is telling me on the first go round but honestly it was phenomenal read that had me jumping at every random noise in my home.
Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

Thought it was an interesting fantasy tale with plenty of well written yet flawed heroes; not something I feel you'd see in young adult fiction, so this was a breath of fresh air. I might return to the series down the line, but for now I am happy with where everything ended. Also, it was fun to see the differences between the Miyazaki film and this book.

I have always loved the imagery evoked by the Warhammer 40,000 wargame but never truly tried to get into it until recently with the beta and eventual release of a game called Darktide. This made me want to seek out a good starting point for the trilogy and so many different people recommended these Eisenhorn books and having just completed it, I would have to agree. This book is a perfect entry point for people like myself who don't understand absolutely everything in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. I love the cast of character, the story, and ultimately am excited to read the next book in this series!

An excellent follow up to Xenos! Expands on characters and stays interesting throughout. I am so excited to see how this all ends in the 3rd book! Warhammer 40,000 is such a cool setting and I think Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn is morphing into such an interesting character!
