I had the privilege of ARC reading this book and my review is my honest opinion. At first, I wasn't sure how this iteration of a relationship would go. Friends who decide to marry because their lives are already interwoven, but neither who had really explored queer sex before. But these two had me smiling the whole way through

Their relationship is wholesome and filled with such a beautiful demonstration of open communication. I often think about how awkward it would really be for best friends to lovers and I think this book gives such a realistic demonstration about how weird it can be to move from a purely platonic relationship, to one filled with intimacy, touch and sex. These two are sweet, funny and absolute relationship goals. Seeing how their friendship translates into romance had me smiling the whole way through.

There are 2 things that were hinted in the book that I wish we got to see play out: I wanted Etna to use the sounding rod and I wanted to see Keno in his second hand wedding dress. In my mind, he surprised Etna during their first dance and wore the dress during that moment. However I would have loved to see this written into the story.

Also, I now REALLY want a book for Nat: big burly shy florist? Sign me the fuck up. I feel like he would be similar to Vulcan and I need that shy big boy energy in my life.

I also really enjoyed the link with the Van Doren books as Crea's universe grows. Crea will need to start including the timeline/character map at the start of the books so I can remind myself of all the characters as I read.
